Just an introduction for new followers: Hi, Im Lynette May a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). With years of experience in private practice.I am licensed both in Indiana, and Kentucky.I am also an active board member of Counseling for Change and have many years of experience in the field of addiction. I specialize in trauma therapy and am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful evidence-based treatment for trauma and other distressing life experiences. In the last 2 years I have been privileged to work with law enforcement, dispatchers, EMT’s, and Firefighters as well.
My approach combines compassion, expertise, and a deep understanding of the neurobiology of trauma. I create a safe , nurturing environment where my clients can process their experiences and develop resilience. In addition to EMDR,I integrate cognitive behavioral techniques and mindfulness practice to provide comprehensive care. I feel it is important to work collaboratively with my clients by meeting them where they are and together we work to create goals and a treatment plan tailored to their specific needs.
With a Master’s degree in Social work from the University or Southern Indiana, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals overcome effects of trauma, anxiety, and depression. I regularly participate in advanced training to stay current with the latest developments in my field. I have advanced training in EMDR with Dissociative Identity Disorder.
I am passionate about empowering my clients to reclaim their lives and find healing. I also helps individuals manage daily stress, relationship issues, and grief by weaving in techniques from CBT (changing negative thoughts), DBT (emotion regulation), as well as EMDR (processing memories) while building life, and coping skills.
I would consider it a privilege to help you in your journey of self-exploration and healing. I understand the courage and strength it takes to become vulnerable throughout the therapeutic process , therefore I strongly believe in a non-judgmental approach to therapy and practice unconditional regard for each client.
