Another "cold- hating" badass took on sauna/ cold plunge contrast therapy and survived! With support for your legitimate nervous system response (maybe you can feel the activation just reading this), breath techniques, and of course a friend to distract you from the clock, you too can get familiar with the systemic benefits of contrast therapy!

Noone can deny tere are too many things to do this day and age. There are simply too many things demanding your attention and making you feel bad for not doing them perfectly.
I have come to realize in my own healing journey that the way to experience more in your life is to actually DO LESS. It's one of those great paradoxes that can be hard to comprehend when you're in the midst of chaos and overwhelm. The fear is if you let off the gas for one moment it will all come crashing down.
Somatic Experiencing therapy supports you in the transition of slowing it all down. A typical session is one part education, one part reflection on the felt senses and the third part is a wild and playful journey shifting through the things standing in your way. I believe in this work so deeply, and I want you to be able to comprehend it and accurately evaluate if it can help you. I know it will, but you're the one that holds the power to enact change!

Today's movement breakdown:
db halos
knee over toes lunge
assisted hip flexor stretch
arm bars
box squats
I think one of the biggest disservices to the general public is that they're made to think they need to stretch every joint, every day.
I don't stretch all the time and I only stretch a few problem areas. Based on actual joint range of motion assessments, for me that means my pecs, lats, hip flexors, and wrists. You probably have other areas that need regular lengthening and that's why an assessment is so important.
I am all for personal autonomy but if you're new to something or not trained in it, hire a professional to get you started.
Then you can ask all the questions that come up and get yourself moving in the right direction to avoid injury and wasting time. Shoot me a DM with your goals and training ideas and I'm happy to get you started for FREE!

Self- myofascial work on the Triceps to help relieve elbow and wrist pain.
Grab a foam roller, pin your arm between the roller and your body, then get to rollin out the tissue!
Focus your work to the inner and outer parts of the upper arm for the best effects. Try rotating the lower arm while pressing in one spot for more concentrated work.
Grab a broom or something like it to further explore the range of motion in the shoulder and wrist joint.

A postion of the 7 min it took Byron to complete his dinner. I put non-liquidy food rolled up in 4-5 towels. Sometimes I tie them into knots for him to work out. he loves the challenge and invariably eats much slower! Stay til the end for somecute butt action!

Orthopedic Massage uses therapeutic techniques to alleviate muscle pain and movement restrictions. We primarily treat athletes and individuals who wish to stay active through all of lifeβs stages. The following is an outline of our treatment plan.
We hope this helps you see our approach to massage therapy. We have studied far outside the lines of bodywork to understand what truly builds a resilient body. There are plenty of places to get a full body massage that will help you feel better. But we want to help you move better, know better, live better, and feel better!
1.Clientβs experience of pain, therapist-observed movement dysfunctions, focus is on relieving immediate pain, but also prioritizing subsequent concerns. Encompasses information provided in intake form through the 2nd or 3rd appointment.
2.Whole- health examination to identify contributing habits: ergonomics, bio-mechanics/ joint range of motion, functional strength for longevity, hydration, nutrition, and stress management. Discussed over 2nd -4th appointments with daily adjustments a must for success.
3.Moving out of pain as a regular experience and towards prevention of recurrence and other breakdowns. We want to reach this level as soon as possible so you are in full command of your body and just need us for tune ups! A loose guideline for getting to this point is 6 sessions, but of course it varies from person to person.
