-1/4 cup-1/2 cup Muesli, depending on needs
- 2 TBSP chia seeds
- Generous sprinkle of trivia for natural sweetness
- Cover with nut milk, then eyeball doubling that amount (Elmhurst is my favorite brand…nothing but nuts and water. Find it in the shelf-stable milk section)

🎶 It’s Everest, I know. It’s impossible, you’re too young or too old. That’s what they tell you. So that’s what you tell you too…but the truth is…everybody says that you can’t till you do. Standing there staring at the mirror in the room. Tell yourself “One more day, one more day, one more shot.” The voices in the night in your head yeah they’ll pay you to quit; they’ll tell you that it’s hard cause it is. But you can do anything, anything you want to, there’s footprints on the moon. 🎵

JSU — Just show up! Release expectations, just show up and appreciate what’s given to you even when it’s not what you want.

I had to take the last 18 months off from heavy lifting. As recently as April, I had to give up even the light lifting I had scaled back to. All I could do was gentle yoga and cardio.

It was not what I wanted to be doing. It felt like too little to matter. Losing so much muscle I worked so hard for was disappointing. Scaling back and still having so much pain was maddening. Stopping lifting scared me.

But I eventually surrendered to what I needed rather than what I wanted. That surrender process has been wonderful healing for my body, mind, and soul. Pain and obstacles are a wonderful teacher.

7 months later, I’ve slowly worked back into strength training with very little expectation and a lot of listening, and I’m finally seeing some strength and muscle rebuild without pain flair ups. Here I finally squatted a weight that felt challenging again, and while the weight is relatively light (165lbs), I am thrilled with my form!!!

Like I say to my clients, JSU. Just show up and get what you get. Show up consistently and inevitably you will have breakthroughs.

VIRTUAL SERVICES STILL AVAILABLE
No matter where you live, or what your comfort level is with working out in public spaces, I am still providing virtual personal training and nutrition coaching via the training app and Zoom. Now these services will include the added benefit of the Life Time Digital Membership with studio classes from Life Time and Apple Fitness+!
