🟠Transportation

But many in the region spend 30% or even 50% of their income on housing costs - leaving little for other needs or emergencies.

If you are a 501(c)(3) serving Southwest Indiana and Western Kentucky, creating affordable housing solutions or helping occupants be successful – you may be eligible for funding.

Good Samaritan Launches New $1 Million Program to Expand Mental Health Access in Rural Indiana, partnering with USI to strengthen mental health and addiction support in underserved communities.

On June 30, 2023, The Good Samaritan Home, Inc., sold its facility and operations to another provider. Going forward, Good Sam Inc. will remain a not-for-profit corporation, with the future to be determined by its member churches. We’ve established an office at Bethel UCC in Evansville and have secured several contracted employees to assist the Board and Membership, including Rev. Michael Erwin as our Executive Director.

The Board is involved in a discernment process for a renewed mission and vision for Good Sam. We’re focusing on several areas of need, including:

* Mental Health
* Senior Living
* Poverty

The Board’s goal is to complete this process and recommend a path forward to the membership at the 2025 Annual Corporate Meeting.
