On CNN, it was reported that there has been an association between Tylenol and Autism durimg pregnancy.

The report was indicated that there is a link of Autism to Tylenol use during pregnancy though it is not confirm rather, it is a speculation.

Dr. Gupta the Medical Correspondent of CNN reported that there is an ASSOCIATION between Tylenol and Autism.

I want to state here that this is not confirm yet by any health institution, but a speculation however, it is important that we are aware of the type and how we use such drugs.

Please watch the video recorded news to understand more about this new development.

Please share your thoughts if you have any information relating to this.

Dear All,

Greetings!

The Affected Communities and Civil Society Coordination Hub has developed the Country Delegation Advocacy toolkit. The toolkit can be used to further country level advocacy to ensure the TB affected community members and civil society representatives are included in the country delegations attending the .

Page 5 of the modalities resolution of the UN HLM on TB states:

11. Encourages Member States and members of the United Nations specialized agencies to include in their delegations to the high-level meeting ministers from all relevant ministries, as appropriate, representatives such as parliamentarians, mayors and governors of cities and states with a high burden of tuberculosis, representatives of Indigenous Peoples, representatives of civil society, including non-governmental organizations, community organizations and faith-based organizations, academia, philanthropic foundations, the private sector and networks representing people affected by tuberculosis, with due regard to gender balance

Hence, it is imperative for us to work closely with our government representatives and ensure that affected community members find a seat on the country delegations. We hope that this toolkit will assist you in building momentum and enrich discussions and strengthen actions towards meaningful community engagement!

Before you stop reading...

We kindly request your participation in this survey to gather information on organizations that have obtained accreditation to attend the in person. The purpose of this survey is to assess the level of accreditation received and the potential for sharing available seats with other affected community and civil society members.

Call for new members:
Communities Delegation to Unitaid Board

Application Deadline: July 14th 2023

Unitaid is a global health initiative that works with partners to bring about innovations to prevent, diagnose and treat major diseases in low- and middle-income countries, with an emphasis on tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV/AIDS and its deadly co-infections. Founded in 2006, the organization funds the final stages of research and development of new drugs, diagnostics and disease-prevention tools, helps produce data supporting guidelines for their use, and works to allow more affordable generic medicines to enter the marketplace in low- and middle-income countries.

The Communities Delegation to the Unitaid Board represents people living with and affected by HIV, TB and Malaria and those co-infected with HIV and HCV, at Unitaid Board and Committee level. The Communities Delegation aims to be transparent, accountable and to prepare communities at grassroots and country level to engage in Unitaid work, working to raise awareness to increase the debate about the Unitaid work areas that directly affect those living with the diseases at country level, especially in the global south. To learn more about Unitaid

Since 2015 the Communities Delegation reconstituted itself to serve its seat on the Unitaid Board and is hosted by GNP+ based in Cape Town, South Africa. For more information about the Delegation’s mission, vision, goals and charter, please find our Delegation Handbook here.

The Communities Delegation is currently inviting applications for membership from people living with HIV, affected by tuberculosis, malaria and those co-infected with HIV and HCV for the period 2022-2025. The Delegation would like to increase its representativity by recruiting additional members from under-represented countries and disease areas.

The Terms of Reference for the Delegation members can be found in the Delegation Handbook with a description of the selection process. Please note that Delegation membership involves regular policy analysis and input into Board processes and grant proposal reviews and that the working language is English.

Community members living with the diseases from Unitaid-implementing countries in West and Central Africa, Latin America, South-East Asia and Western Pacific, as well as community experts in viral hepatitis, IP, Malaria, Cervical Cancer and Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH) are strongly encouraged to apply. We would particularly welcome applications from countries with important Unitaid investments such as Uganda, India, Mozambique, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Tanzania, DRC, Ethiopia, Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Mali, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Lesotho, Peru, Senegal, Benin, Indonesia, Viet Nam, Philippines, and Cambodia but candidates from other countries will also be considered. You will find an overview of all current Unitaid projects and implementing countries here.

Interested community members with the above expertise and criteria are invited to submit the Application Form via email to wvandevelde@gnpplus.net. The deadline for submissions is July 14th 2023 COB.

Please share this call for applications within your networks.

Many thanks!
