UPDATE!!! Our existing foster base has stepped up for cats and we do not need anymore cat fosters! If you can open your home to a foster dog for a few days please come to the shelter 11am-1pm today. We'll keep updating as we are able. THANK YOU!

‼️📢 Emergency Foster Support Needed – Temporary Animal Housing During Shelter Flood Evacuation 📢‼️

Due to rising water levels in the Snohomish River adjacent to the shelter, the Everett Animal Shelter is at significant risk of flooding. Out of an abundance of caution, we will be initiating a temporary evacuation of the animals to ensure their safety and well-being. Our plan is to move animals into foster care by the end of the day tomorrow, Wednesday 12/10/25.

We are reaching out to our community for assistance with short-term, temporary housing for animals during this precautionary period. Your support is essential in helping us keep the animals safe until the risk has passed.

🌟 If you are able to help, we are asking that you come to the shelter tomorrow, Wed. December 10th from 11am to 1pm to check out an animal. Please have valid photo ID. We will provide food and supplies. 🌟

Thank you for your continued dedication to the animals in our care. Your support during situations like this makes a tremendous difference.

Movers for Mutts is a program by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® where we collect pet supplies, food, and toys to support local shelters. This year, all donations will go directly to Save-A-Mutt, helping animals in need right here in our community.

Looking for an excuse to hang out with a dog all day? Our field trip program, launching July 21st, makes it easy.

Take a dog for a hike, a trip to the park, a pup cup run, or a cozy couch hang - whatever kind of day you’re having, they’re happy to tag along.

It’s a break from the shelter for them, and an easy way to help a dog find a home.

To get started, email foster@homewardpet.org. You’ll need to complete our Volunteer Application, view the online Foster Orientation, and sign the Foster Care Agreement—once those are done, you’re ready to go!
