Patient Story ⭐️
Meet Will, a student at McClure Middle School and an incredible young patient we’ve had the privilege of working with.
Will has rigid bilateral equinovarus, dystonia, and extremely sensitive skin. After going years without successful orthotic support, he and his grandmother met with practitioner Kat Davis, LCPO, who took on the challenge of creating fully custom AFOs designed specifically around his needs.
With the help of our fabrication team, Kat designed these custom AFOs to help Will safely participate in supported standing and recumbent bike programs, activities that are critical for his development.
They may take some time to get used to, but Will is already slowly acclimating to them, and we are excited to watch his progress over the coming months.
This case is also a great example of the impact of Cornerstone’s in-school orthotic services, which allow us to work closely with families, therapists, and educators to provide more accessible and coordinated care.
At Cornerstone, no case is too challenging, and every patient reminds us why this work matters.
