A new study says that medications “that lower uric acid levels in the blood also appear to reduce a person’s risk of heart attack and stroke.” The data “showed that patients who reached the target treatment level of uric acid had a 9% lower risk of heart attack and stroke overall.” Patients “whose uric acid levels dropped lower, to less than 5 mg/dL, did even better — a 23% lower risk of heart attack and stroke.”

A scientific review published in The Lancet Obstetrics, Gynecology & Women’s Health of 43 "studies on acetaminophen use during pregnancy concluded that there was no evidence that the painkiller increased the risk of autism or other neurodevelopmental disorders.”
Investigators “looked at 43 studies and concluded that the most rigorous ones, such as those that compare siblings, provide strong evidence that taking the drug...does not cause autism, ADHD or intellectual disabilities.”
