What an amazing day and we are so incredibly grateful to the family who opened their hearts and home to not one, not two but THREE FELV positive cats! We are over the moon for them! Today Maple, who was trapped in early December from a yard in Paterson where he was living with no shelter in the freezing cold. This loving, gentle cat was adopted along with Angel & Jeanine who were scheduled to be killed at AHS South in late August due to them testing positive and in spite of them being the most loving and darling cats, Well that’s all behind them now and the future is bright for these lovable cats! They will enjoy a beautiful home in bucolic Millbrook NY…we pray they stay healthy and enjoy the most wonderful life! Rescue can be rough, days like today remind us why we carry on!

We are so excited to announce that our adorable Aurora has been cleared for adoption…she’s fully healthy and after weeks of medical care, antibiotics and observation we have the green light for this little fighter to find a forever home! You may recall Aurora came to us literally at deaths door struggling to breath…the ER vet suggested euthanasia but we just couldn’t do it without giving her a chance to respond and respond she did! While it wasn’t easy or cheap, we still owe vet quite a bit, she is absolutely thriving now! She is funny, sassy, playful and a real character. This young cat has the world ahead of her and all she needs is a family to help her live her life to the fullest. Our girl Paisley is looking for a quiet, calm and loving forever home! Paisley was dumped outside the Paterson pound last year and fortunately brought in to safety. We don’t know what happened to this sweet cat but she was definitely traumatized by something. Paisley has been with us for months in foster care and has shown to be a friendly, playful and loving cat but she does have boundaries and her people would need to respect that. We’ve also determined this gorgeous approximately two year old cat should be an only pet in home and best with adults. She’ll thrive in a calm home where she can fully relax and trust. Update on Rigby, the beautiful FELV positive boy surrendered back to us because his adopter “couldn’t handle it” in spite of our offer for medical support. That said, this darling boy is with an amazing, dedicated and loving foster and for right now he is thriving. Sadly it could change any time, but we live in the moment with this gorgeous cat and take great joy in the life he has now! He knows nothing but comfort, security and love and sometimes that is all we can do. He is getting amazing medical care, as always from the team Cats Only Vet Hospital & Mcsnip & attached is a gofundme link for anyone that wants to contribute a bit toward his bill. Handsome charmer Ben is waiting at the Princeton Petsmart waiting for a loving family to take him home. We pulled Ben back in October from ACCT Philly where he was scheduled to be killed because he needed some dental work after being found wandering around the streets alone. This extremely loving, gentle and sweet angel has now had his dental care handled and he’s ready for a family to love on him. Colin from Accounts has been waiting for a forever home for weeks down at the Princeton Petsmart adoption center. This sweet, energetic, playful and friendly boy was found outside in Newark and got himself rescued by following a feeder to her car and refusing to let her leave without him. This guy is high energy and just bursting with sass so being caged up all day is starting to wear on his nerves. Unfortunately for him he happened to be at the store during a rough winter with slow traffic and adoptions. Now that Spring is on the horizon he’s hoping to bust out and finally go home. This darling cat would probably be best as an only cat but a friendly calm dog may be just fine for him. Beautiful young mama Margie is pi**ed off! This sweet girl is just lovely but she was not built for a cage. Margie came to us back in October from the Elizabeth shelter with her one tiny perfect 3 day old baby. She was an excellent mom and her beautiful boy thrived…and of course being an adorable kitten has already been adopted but that leaves poor mom behind once again! Margie was wonderful and loving in both her foster homes but is absolutely stressed and unhappy at our Petsmart adoption center, but it’s her best chance to find a loving home and be seen, so we are hoping this post will bring the person to her that can see past her anxiety and give her the chance she needs to relax in a loving home. Volunteers are there right now until 6pm! Please consider this lovely girl…she would prefer to be your one & only!

Bandit & Tree are gorgeous, sleek panther brothers. These seven month old kittens were born outside locally and brought in to safety. They are sweet, friendly and a tiny bit shy but love to play and be pet! They especially love other friendly cats too! They are wonderful boys and are looking for a loving family to take them home! We can’t believe February is already at an end….but we are very happy and hope leave this awful winter behind us finally! As the thaw has started adoptions have thankfully started to pick up. We are so beyond happy that Peanut, Pudgy & Cream Puff all rescued from the AHS South kill list in August all found loving homes! Also adopted was our sweet Bunny who was found outside alone, after many months with her foster mama they’ve decided she should stay; our favorite boy Little Duke found a loving family to grow up in (his mama Margie is still at Petsmart!); quiet, shy Ned found outside has a home with two dog buddies to keep him company; sweet Penny was scooped up by people who will love her forever and honor their commitment to her…unlike her last family; her adorable brother Benny was also adopted along with his new bestie Saint, who had been abandoned when his family moved; our fluffy beauty Lourdes is now the Queen of her new castle; handsome boys Petunio & Junior both transferred from a sanctuary got the families they longed for; sweet senior boy King also from the same sanctuary has a quiet home where he can be a spoiled only cat, just as he wanted and with a lovely lady to dote on him; senior girl Ashley who was dumped at ACCT Philly by the people entrusted to care for her and immediately placed on the kill list due to untreated medical needs will stay in her foster home where she is currently thriving with medical and loving care! And lastly we are thrilled for Sid & Stan who survived Panleuk and found a wonderful family at our Rosedale Mills event! We hope this trend continues as the need for homes is immense. We are as always so grateful to our adopters for opening their hearts and homes!
