Winter in New England is always a challenge for me and every year I am stretched to find ways of getting through it. Last Thanksgiving, I made a decision to save my energy by not complaining about winter. No kvetching, no snark, no joining the camaraderie of shrugging whaddayagonnado eye-rollers.

I had only a glimpse of why that would become so important.

The last 10 years in our country and on the globe, have seemed to justify the consuming terror that we feel. The reach of fascism and the billionaire class has not been good for anyone, especially because fascism thrives on keeping you constantly afraid, and when we are afraid we are completely intuitively blocked. Not one iota of light gets in. You will not be able to trust your gut when you are even slightly anxious.

And yet, pick any other point in our human history, and a larger point is made that turning away from our intuition doesn’t solve anything. So what do we do when we can’t shake the feeling that if we embrace our intuition, it will be all bad news? How do we live intuitively through a period in our history that is actively eroding civil rights, environmental protections, and basic common decency? When the stakes feel like they could not be higher, how do we make intuitive choices that don’t seem irrelevant compared to the suffering going on across the globe?

I spent the last half of December either in pajamas or in clothing that is definitely pajama-adjacent.

I also wrote a gratitude list of the many truly good things that happened against a backdrop of a country and a world that are clearly going through some things.

How we participated in the circumstances we found ourselves in made many ethereal and spiritual concepts very real, which may have been the whole point of it all, but hope ended up being the concept that crossed the finish line for me.

My latest post on holding on to the durable good from last year, and how to face 2026 with an intuitive heart is up now on Substack.

Season 6 Episode 5 of the Everyday Intuition podcast is out now!

In this episode, Coby and I sit down to have a chit chat about our beloved pets, both the ones that are nestled deep into our hearts now, and the ones that are gone but not forgotten. We talk about how they showed up at critical times in our lives, the ways they healed us, awakened our intuition, and most importantly, taught us about participating in the highest good for the greatest number. Pets, like anyone or anything we care about, give us opportunities to feel safe trusting and listening to our intuition-unabashedly.

You can find this episode and all past episodes on Spotify, Apple Music, or wherever you listen to podcasts.

We are having a lot of fun with this new format and hope to bring you more in the future! What would you like us to discuss?
