Your athletes aren’t just struggling physically, they’re struggling mentally too. ⛹️‍♀️

And the old “push through it” approach isn’t working anymore.

Here’s what we know:
• 25% of elite athletes experience anxiety
• 20% experience depression
• Less than half feel comfortable talking to their coach about it

This isn’t just a challenge, it’s an opportunity. 💡

Coaches who understand mental health aren’t just supporting their athletes…
they’re unlocking performance, resilience, and long-term success.

The New Standard is a 2-hour virtual workshop designed for coaches who want to:

✔ Understand why athletes freeze, shut down, or act out
✔ Replace “toughen up” with evidence-based strategies
✔ Build resilience without shame
✔ Create a team culture where athletes thrive

There’s a growing awareness that neurodivergence and chronic illness often overlap, and for many people, that experience can feel confusing, frustrating, and isolating. 😔

If you’ve ever felt like your body and brain are both working overtime, we see you.

Many neurodivergent individuals also experience chronic fatigue, pain, or nervous system dysregulation. It’s often a reflection of how much your system is managing at once.

And unfortunately, these experiences are often minimized or misunderstood.

You might have been told:
• you’re just anxious
• you need to push through
• nothing is “medically wrong”

But your experience is real.

Support doesn’t have to look like pushing harder. It can look like learning how your nervous system works, honoring your capacity, and building strategies that actually support you.

At Healing Hearts Wellness, we offer trauma-informed therapy that considers both mind and body, including support for neurodivergence and chronic stress.

If this resonates, we'd love to connect with you.

Grounding gets talked about a lot, but it doesn’t always work the way people expect. 😒

If you’ve ever tried to “feel your feet” or “notice your breath” and felt… nothing, you’re not alone.

When you’re dissociated, your system may need something more active or sensory to register safety. Small shifts like movement, temperature, or sound can sometimes reach places traditional grounding doesn’t.

Dissociation isn’t failure. It’s your nervous system doing its job.

The work isn’t about forcing yourself to be present, but finding approaches that actually meet your body where it is.

If you’re struggling with dissociation or feeling disconnected, therapy can help you better understand your nervous system and find tools that work for you.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Thinking about opening your relationship can bring up a mix of curiosity, excitement, and uncertainty.

Ethical non-monogamy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it isn’t a solution for relationship distress. It’s a different way of relating that often requires more communication, not less. 💬

Before making any changes, it can be helpful to explore:

• what you’re actually hoping for
• what your long-term relationship vision looks like
• how communication is currently working between you and your partner

For many individuals and couples, therapy can provide a supportive space to navigate these questions, understand emotions like jealousy, and build agreements that feel aligned and sustainable.

At Healing Hearts Wellness, we offer poly-affirming, trauma-informed therapy for individuals and couples exploring ethical non-monogamy.

If you’re considering this path, you don’t have to figure it out alone. 💛

Breathwork is often recommended as the go-to tool for calming the nervous system. 🧘🏽‍♂️

And for many people, it helps.

But for others, focusing on breathing can actually feel activating or uncomfortable. If that’s been your experience, it doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.

Our nervous systems are shaped by our history, our bodies, and our experiences. What helps one person regulate may feel overwhelming for someone else.

Regulation isn’t about forcing a specific technique, it’s about discovering what signals safety to your nervous system.

For some people, that might be breath.
For others, it might be movement, pressure, sound, temperature, or grounding through the senses.

Learning how your nervous system responds is a powerful step toward building practices that actually support you.

You don’t have to force tools that don’t fit your body. 💙

When your nervous system feels overwhelmed, your body may shift into survival mode... racing thoughts, muscle tension, shallow breathing, or a sense that something isn’t quite right. 😣

While we can’t eliminate stress from our lives, we can practice helping our nervous system return to a sense of safety.

Simple somatic practices like bilateral tapping, gentle head holds, and long-exhale breathing can send signals to the body that it’s okay to downshift out of fight-or-flight.

These tools don’t have to be perfect to be helpful. Even a few breaths or a few moments of tapping can begin to shift your nervous system. 😮‍💨

Many adults begin wondering about neurodivergence after years of feeling like their brain works differently. 🧠

Maybe you’ve been called “too sensitive,” “disorganized,” “intense,” or “inconsistent.” Maybe you’ve spent a lot of energy trying to keep up with expectations that never quite fit how your mind works.

For some people, these patterns are connected to forms of neurodivergence such as ADHD or autism.

Recognizing these experiences doesn’t mean diagnosing yourself, but it can be a meaningful first step toward understanding your nervous system, your strengths, and the support that might help.

At Healing Hearts Wellness, we approach neurodivergence through a compassionate, strengths-based lens. Exploring these patterns in therapy can help bring clarity, reduce shame, and identify tools that actually work for your brain.

If you’re curious about learning more or exploring professional assessment, we’re here to help. 🤝

We’re excited to welcome Elizabeth Cleary, LPC to the Healing Hearts Wellness team 🌿

Elizabeth is a holistic therapist who works with adults navigating trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, ADHD, compassion fatigue, and major life transitions. Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that healing looks different for everyone.

Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, and somatic therapy, Elizabeth helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and nervous system while building practical tools that support real-life change. She also incorporates trauma-informed care and EMDR-informed treatment to support deeper processing and healing.

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable. Elizabeth’s goal is to make the process feel steady, supportive, and empowering so clients don’t feel like they have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

Elizabeth is currently accepting new adult clients.

If you’ve been Googling things like “what is yoga therapy?” or “does yoga therapy help anxiety?”- this post is for you.

Yoga therapy is a personalized, therapeutic approach that uses movement, breath, and nervous system education to support healing. 🧘🏾 It’s different from a standard yoga class and is adapted specifically to your goals, history, and body.

At Healing Hearts Wellness, yoga therapy is offered through a trauma-informed lens and often works beautifully alongside talk therapy.

If you’re curious about whether this approach might support you, you can learn more through the link in our bio or reach out with questions. 🪷

Needing support doesn’t mean you’re failing as a parent.

It means you’re paying attention. To your child, to yourself, and to what your family needs right now. 💜

We have therapists who work with children, teens, and young adults to help make sense of big feelings, changing behaviors, and the stress that can show up at home.

You don’t have to navigate it all on your own and we'd love to support your family.

When the world feels unstable, your nervous system feels it too. 😖

Many people are experiencing what therapists call collective stress: the emotional and physiological impact of living through ongoing political, social, and environmental upheaval. 🌎

It can show up as anxiety, exhaustion, emotional overwhelm, or a sense that your nervous system never fully settles.

Your reaction makes sense.

One of the most powerful tools we can practice during times like these is pausing. Even a single moment of awareness, like noticing your breath, your body or your surroundings, helps the nervous system reset and creates space for choice instead of reactivity.

Healing during collective stress isn’t only about individual self-care. It’s also about connection, community, and tending to our capacity so we can continue showing up for one another.

If you’re noticing that political stress, grief, or anxiety is impacting your well-being, therapy can provide a space to process what you’re carrying and build emotional resilience.

You don’t have to navigate it alone. 💛
