🌸 Women’s History Month 🌸
This month, we honor women who didn’t just ask for change, they used their voices to create it.
Lucy Stone (1818–1893) was a suffragist, feminist, and abolitionist who understood something deeply important: justice cannot be divided. While she is often remembered for her work toward women’s right to vote, her advocacy reached far beyond a single cause. She lent her voice to the abolitionist movement, spoke fiercely for equal rights for all, and believed that freedom, dignity, and humanity were inseparable.
“I was a woman before I was an abolitionist. I must speak for the women.”
— Lucy Stone
Stone knew that progress is rarely comfortable and that speaking the truth often comes at a cost. She spoke publicly when women were told to stay silent. She fought for education, free speech, bodily autonomy, and equality in marriage. She understood that some of the changes she fought for might not be realized in her lifetime ... but she believed deeply in the power of mentorship, example, and planting seeds for future generations.
“We cannot walk alone.”
— Lucy Stone
Using your voice takes courage. It also takes healing. When we do the work to care for ourselves, emotionally, mentally, and physically, we strengthen our ability to speak up when something doesn’t align with our values, to stand with others, and to imagine a more just future.
This Women’s History Month, we honor:
✨ the courage to speak
✨ the wisdom to listen
✨ the healing that makes truth-telling possible
✨ the legacy we leave for those who come after us
Not all progress happens in our lifetime but every voice matters. Every act of care matters. Every truth spoken makes space for what comes next.
🌸 Make the world better. 🌸
