Today’s Throwback Thursday brings us back to the 2024 Holiday Parade of Lights and Winter Wonderland. Our crew had a blast meeting Santa & Mrs. Claus as well as meeting all of Fair Lawn’s elves! Hi, I’m Emily and I have been part of FLVAC since October 2024. I’m currently a freshman in college majoring in Biology. I joined FLVAC because I’ve always been drawn to helping others and wanted to make a real difference in the community. The idea of being there for people during emergencies really inspired me. I was also interested in learning valuable medical and life-saving skills that could prepare me for a future in healthcare. Beyond that, being part of FLVAC gives me a sense of purpose and teamwork, knowing that every call I respond to matters. If you are thinking of joining this wonderful community I would 100% do it.

What’s up! My name is Romel, and I’ve been a member at FLVAC for about 2.5 years. This organization has brought many things to my life, but the best has to be the people I’ve met along the way. I cherish The community I’ve found here, and being able to contribute to that community is something I will never take for granted. Nothing puts a smile on my face more than hearing my 80 yr old patients passion for crafting model planes, or a mother offering a piece of lasagna made with her family’s secret recipe.

Over the years, the family I’ve found at FLVAC has provided me with the skills to become a competent EMT, and more importantly, become a person that I am proud of. Bringing all the wisdom and experience from my second home, I’ll create the same community in medical school next year, for my peers and future patients. If you’ve ever given thought about giving back to the community, FLVAC is a great way to do so!
