Wishing our patients well until we see you again!
On behalf of our dental team, I want to let you know that we are thinking of you during this unprecedented time and wish you all the strength, perseverance and good fortune you and we all need, to get through this. We are dedicated above all to keeping our patients and staff safe, and look forward to being able to get back to serving your dental needs with the high standard that you, our patients, deserve.
The odds are that some of you may have been afflicted with COVID, either personally, or through a family member or friend. We hope all have recovered and that anybody who might still be ill is well on their way to a speedy and complete healing. This virus is currently as none other ever encountered and I urge everybody to take the necessary precautions so that we can eliminate this as quickly as possible. We are a community and need to act as ONE TEAM — think back to what we were taught in our schools and in Little Leagues and most likely in our homes. We are in this together, so please keep in mind that WE are in it together. The moment you leave your house, you are putting you and your community at risk . Wearing gloves, masks, washing your hands with soapy water for 20 seconds (Happy Birthday song 2x!) and being extremely vigilant DOES reduce the chances of being infected or infecting others.
My father of blessed memory would say; ā€œthis too shall passā€ whenever I was faced with an upsetting challenge, and I pass that calming message on to you. Testing and treatments and our efforts in distancing will make a major difference in reducing the morbidity and mortality rates and thus fear and disruption will slowly wane.
Please note that we’ll be trying to reach you all by phone just to check on you and say ā€œhelloā€ and just keep in touch. For us, that is time well-spent. We miss you all and want to keep a personal connection so that when the day comes that we can see each other again, we will know how you’ve fared, how your family is doing and resume a normalcy we are all craving.
Keep your eye out for Dr.Jason who along with my grandson will be posting things entertaining and educational on our Office page https://www.facebook.com/DrBramAlster/ and Website https://www.bramalsterdmd.com/ so please look out for it. You can also click on the attachment to see my grandson demonstrating proper brushing.
As you know from my recent e-mail blast, we will always be there for you so please let me know if you develop any serious dental emergency or if you’d just like to speak. We will be periodically checking messages so there is an additional means of you reaching us while we are closed. Don’t forget that we still need to brush and floss and keep our teeth. Again; please feel free to e-mail me at drbramalster@optonline.net even if you’d just like to talk and I can get back to you. STAY SAFE and we all look forward to seeing you all soon.
Ps; Please watch this Pulmonologist from New York Cornell Hospital speak on the subject. I thought he is excellent and even sort of entertaining in his delivery.

pps; I’ll be posting some funnies and some interesting things on our website page and on ā€œInstagramā€ over the next few days and couple of weeks so please look out. Be assured that when circumstances allow and we know it is safe, we will reopen. Hopefully, this can happen in early May but right now it would be anyone’s guess / no promises. We wish everyone who celebrates, a Happiest and heathy Passover and Easter and though very different we are sure the holidays will be extremely meaningful; maybe even more-so than ever before.

With so much time on our hands, Ethan felt it be a good time to demonstrate proper brushing ..
It is at scary times such as these that we do need some cheer to lighten the heavy loads we’re bearing. However, I cannot post anything without recognizing our health care workers on the front lines ! Ethan’s generation might very well be referring to those doctors, nurses and others risking their lives as the ā€œGreatest Generation In Health Careā€!! Forever Grateful to them!!

COVID-19 Update:

Dear Patients,

As cases of COVID-19 mount in our local community, it is imperative to mitigate the spread by strictly adhering to ā€œsocial distancing.ā€ As a neighbor, community member, and healthcare provider, I feel it is my responsibility to protect my wonderful patients and their families, my wonderful staff and their families as well as myself and my own family. For these reasons I have made the decision to close our practice for the next 2 weeks at which time we will re-evaluate the climate to safely be re-opening the office.

You should all be assured that our office adheres to all of OSHA’s most stringent policies for infection prevention and control as part of our normal daily routine, however during these trying times we have been going well above OSHA's requirements and have been disinfecting doors, door handles, cabinets, drawers, light switches, etc. The health of our office and patients is our #1 priority. Let me be clear in stating that no staff member in my office or anyone in their families has tested positive for COVID-19 or been sick. No patient seen in our office has reported a positive test for COVID-19 and we have not been seeing any patients who show or report any signs of being ill. In the past several weeks since this Pandemic was declared, our procedures, protective wear as well as protocols regarding whether or not to see a patient have been adjusted to meet more stringent requirements for safety.

I have established a network with our specialists to deal with urgent situations and am available on my cell for Dental emergency. We will be rescheduling patients over the next few days and we plan to be adding office hours once we can safely return to work and take care of all of you. We believe that this temporary closure will allow us to more effectively evaluate this fluid situation and assist in the CDC’s guidance of social separation and will continue to monitor the situations as it evolves to determine when it will be safe to return to our normal business hours.

Although comprehensive social distancing is uncomfortable, PLEASE do your part. Our municipalities are going to great lengths to shut schools, group gatherings, and public events, but making daily choices to stay away from each other is up to you. It is our only strategy for slowing the projected numbers of people who will need acute care.

Wash your hands, don’t forget to brush your teeth, floss and ā€œSMILE’ and with G-d’s help, we will all get through this together!

You or members of your family can reach us at 201-797-3044 or can e-mail us to drbramalster@optonline.net, someone will promptly get back to you. There will be administrative staff available several days a week to return calls when they get in. Again, emergencies will be either seen at our office or properly referred.

Sincerely,

Dr. Bram Alster & Dr. Jason Alster

It's our pleasure to announce, Dr. Alster was named a 2019 New Jersey Monthly Jersey Choice Top Dentist for the fifth time!

New Jersey Monthly commissioned an independent survey by Leflein Associates, a research firm in Ringwood. A questionnaire was mailed to all New Jersey-based dentists who have been licensed by the state for at least five years. The mailing list, which is used by the state Board of Dentistry for licensing purposes, was obtained from the New Jersey Department of Consumer Affairs.

Once all the eligible votes were tallied, dentists with sufficient votes were placed on a preliminary list. The preliminary list was submitted for professional review to an advisory board chosen from among top vote-getters in last year’s survey.
