ACCA Inc.

ACCA Inc. Alaska Center for Children and Adults has been serving Alaskan's since 1956.

ACCA began in the 1940's as a statewide network of concerned citizens, who established resource and referral services to help people access medical and adaptive equipment services. Throughout the years, ACCA has maintained its focus on services to children, adults and families who experience many types of disabilities. Today, ACCA programs provide services focusing on supporting family members with disabilities in everyday routines, school and community activities. Our mission is to assist in improving the lives of people with disabilities and their families by providing quality diagnostic, educational and referral services in conjunction with other community providers without regard to ability to pay. ACCA Programs serve communities in the Interior, North Slope and South Central regions of Alaska. We are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation and receive funding from private and public funding sources. Our Mission

We recognize this is a challenging time for many families we serve. Between federal furloughs and frozen SNAP benefits, nutritional support may be needed for families including formula and baby food.

We compiled a list of information for the interior, north/northwest regions, and Copper Center. There may be more and we will continue to update this list as we learn about them.

Our hope is to inform families who may need the support or help those who can provide extra support know where donations can be made.

*if you know of a resource that isn’t on this list for these regions, please email us at acca@alaskacenter.org.

Resources Resource Guide ACCA has been working on a resource guide that is accessible to our community. While this information is not complete, we wanted to share what we had gathered while we continue working on building the library of information and developing a navigation tool. Thank you Fairbanks Children's Museum for supporting families!

Museum friends,
If someone in your household is furloughed from their federal job, please know we're thinking of you. The unknowns, the waiting, the worries... you are parenting tiny humans through it all. We see you, we understand how hard it is, and we want you to know: FCM's doors are open, free of charge to you.

Until the end of this furlough, households with children and an adult who is furloughed from their federal employment receive free admission to the museum. When you get here, show the front desk your (or your partner's) federal employment ID (a CAC card, a dependent ID, a PIV card, a badge...) and we will waive admission for all members of your household. Please come play!

This week we honor, acknowledge, and encourage the
importance of early relational health for our youngest Alaskan’s and we THANK the amazing ACCA staff who support babies and their families!
