🔥 Prevent Fires. Handle Batteries Right. 🔥

Batteries do NOT belong in your trash or recycling bin. Whether it's alkaline, lithium-ion, or even the small batteries from greeting cards, putting them in your bin can cause dangerous fires during transport and sorting.

Instead, bring ALL batteries to Greene County Environmental Services for safe recycling.

✨Daylight Saving Time Reminder!✨

When we spring forward this Sunday, March 8, at 2:00 AM, take a moment to test your smoke alarms and replace batteries in units with replaceable batteries.

Smoke alarms with non-replaceable batteries are designed to remain effective for up to 10 years. If the alarm chirps, warning that the battery is low, replace the entire smoke alarm right away.

Do you have a carbon monoxide detector in your home? Now is the perfect time to test that, too! The NFPA recommends testing CO alarms at least once a month and replacing them according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Battery‑operated smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are available at no cost to Fairborn & Bath Township residents while supplies last. Please visit our website for more details about our Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector Program.
