No, you d’man! Our first full braces case at our Carrollton office finished today. We’ve finished a number of aligner cases here but he is our first case we’ve finished with braces. No one reps harder for all Atlanta and Georgia teams than this guy. Now he has a smile to match the enthusiasm. Smile…it’s just life!!

August is off to a GREAT start! The dedication, attention to detail, and completion of the assignment to run me my coins is not lost on me. I count this towards the fruit of our labor (albeit small) that contributes to the greater pool that supports our families and keeps the ship afloat. I am sincerely grateful! SERIOUSLY! Help is on the way!! The next generation of great dentists, pediatric dentists, and orthodontists are on their way!!! Today I had the pleasure of having a 3rd year student from the best dental school in the land Meharry Medical College) spend some time in the office as she shapes and envisions the career she will be pursuing in orthodontics. Sharp as whip! I was very impressed with this young lady.

Yesterday one of my very first patients (now a Meharry grad) worked in our office on the Smile Studio Kids side caring for the little ones needing sedation to complete their dental work. My heart is FULL!! - Tyus - IYKYK

Last weekend we gave our beloved Ms. Dorothy her flowers, celebrating her retirement. She has knit her sweet and gentle spirit into the fabric of our office for 15 years and 4 months. She is the second employee of our practice and the first to retire from Smile Studio Orthodontics. We can not replace her! She has tiny feet but enormous shoes that will be hard to fill. I’m not sure that we can even sum up her job description completely. Her most valued role has been that she is everyone’s favorite aunty. Listening, praying for, helping, and comforting everyone in her path (co-worker and patient alike). Too often the strong and peaceful people don’t get their flowers. This ain’t one of those instances. We had a grand time showering Ms. Dorothy with gifts, favorite stories, and tears. Job well done! Enjoy a full life on your terms!! We will miss you…and LOVE YOU!!

Bow Tie! First Wednesday(in the office) of the year. Bow tie Wednesday is back by popular demand. I don’t think I’ve worn one since February 2020 (before the sun fell out of the sky with the pandemic). The New Year has in some ways encouraged us to refine systems in the office but in others ways I will be intentional about a “back to basics” approach. Cant wait to welcome you into our state of the art, family oriented, high energy office. And by request we can rustle up spirit fingers 😁.
