One of the things that a child wants/needs most is to be heard by their parents. The invalidated child is likely to develop feelings of insecurity, shame, and worthlessness. Later they will have difficulties in healthy emotional expression. Remember to listen and let your child know that you hear them and understand them (even and especially if you disagree)
