Please take a few minutes to submit public comment and/or contact your legislators to let them know that you support adoptees rights to access their own information. Currently, adoptees and birth parents are not allowed to access original birth certificates in VA. Over the years, many states have overturned attempts to restrict adoptees access to this information because adoption competence requires communities to understand and respect the importance for adoptees to know who they are and where they come from.

On Saturday, November 15th, Loudoun County marked a significant milestone with its 20th annual Adoption Day celebration! Two of our families were blessed to participate this year. Thank you to Loudoun County and the Virginia Women Attorney's Association for organizing this event.

This is a great opportunity for families to connect with one another, support and share with families who are waiting and also connect with others who have adopted.
