Hope everyone is in the best of health and staying safe!

In following the latest recommendations from Virgina Governor Ralph Northam, and the guidelines from the American Dental Association and the Virginia Dental Association, Samfar Family Dentistry will begin to resume normal dental operations (routine, elective, urgent and emergency procedures), on Friday May 1st.

As always, we strictly follow thorough infection control and sterilization protocols as mandated in the dental profession before, during and after every patient and every procedure. In addition to that, we have secured essential and necessary PPE for all staff to continue to ensure safety for everyone against Covid-19. The office has also been equipped with multiple surgical/medical grade air filtration and purifier systems. Even though we have always used high volume suction systems in our operatories, we are installing additional high volume suction units to further reduce aerosols. We are screening all patients before scheduling, checking temperatures, eliminating patients having to wait in the reception area, and implementing hydrogen peroxide rinses for all hygiene patients before and after treatment.

In addition, all our staff members have been further trained in and provided with an intense review of all necessary preventative safety measures (wearing of masks at all times, frequent washing of hands and carrying out of proper disinfecting and sterilization protocols throughout the day). Please rest assured that we have been and will continue to do our part in providing a safe environment for our patients, staff and community as we continue to allot our full efforts to mitigate the spread of this virus.

As any further recommendations become available, we will take all necessary actions, step by step, keeping safety our first priority.
