Dear Patients and Friends of NoVA Orthodontics,

We hope you have been staying healthy and safe during this unprecedented time. We look forward to welcoming you back to our office and have officially re-opened on Monday May 4, 2020. Our first priority is your safety and health, so we are adjusting protocol to ensure that everyone feels comfortable coming to the office. We will be following guidelines of the ADA and AAO to do our best to keep our patients and staff safe while keeping your orthodontic treatment on track.

We would like to accommodate as many patients as quickly as possible, but we also need to minimize the number of people in the office at any given time. Therefore, we are implementing the following procedures in order to protect you and your family as well as our staff:

Appointments:

- Office hours will be 9am-5pm Monday thru Thursday.

- Appointments will be staggered, and only 5 patients seen per hour (down from 8).

- We request that patients call the office from the parking lot rather than wait in the lobby. We will let you know when your chair is ready. For safety reasons, adult patients and teenagers will come in the office by themselves. Small children can be accompanied by 1 adult if necessary. Dr Djeu can give treatment updates by phone or email.

- Future appointments and credit card payments can be made over the phone. Receipts and contracts can be sent to you by email. PLEASE NO CASH OR CHECKS.

- We will strictly enforce our late policy. If you will be more than 15 minutes late, we will have to reschedule your appointment because we do not want the office to be over-crowded.

Infection Control:

- Please cancel your appointment if you have a fever or cough.

- Please wear a mask when you come to the office.

- We will take the temperature of all patients as they enter the office with a touchless thermometer and will ask you to re-schedule if you have a fever. We will also be taking the temperature of our staff on a daily basis.

- Please brush your teeth and use your home bathroom before coming to the office. We do not want patients to brush at the office to reduce the spread of germs. If possible, please rinse with hydrogen peroxide before coming.

- Please use our hand sanitizer when you enter the office.

- We will be constantly disinfecting all surfaces in the clinic and waiting room.

- Lobby magazines and toys have been removed, and drinking water machine will be turned off.

- We will be offering disposable eye protection glasses



Removing Braces:

- The American Association of Orthodontists has recommended that drills not be used because they create an aerosol of potential germs. Therefore, we CAN remove braces, but we CANNOT polish the glue off the teeth or remove aligner attachments at this time. We will have to delay polishing teeth until the AAO deems it is safe to use drills. Please let us know if you prefer to keep the braces on due to our inability to polish the glue off.

Invisalign and Clarity Aligners:

- We can mail aligners to you if you prefer not to come to the office. We will ask you to email pictures of your teeth to make sure you are on track. If your teeth need filing, we can schedule an appointment.

NoVA Orthodontics will be following the Virginia Dental Association's recommendation to close the office for 2 weeks starting March 17. Any missed appointment can be re-scheduled when the office re-opens. Stay healthy and safe!
