A routine colonoscopy saved Lisa's life when a 2025 screening revealed early-stage colorectal cancer. 💙 Because it was caught early, Lisa was able to undergo surgery and did not require chemotherapy or radiation.

Our Inova Saville Cancer Screening and Prevention Center and Inova Well teams offered free wellness screenings and education, while Occupational Health shared valuable resources and information at the 2026 Fire Health & Safety Symposium hosted by the Metro Washington Council of Governments.

Inova’s Occupational Health team also participated in a panel discussion focused on firefighters’ wellness.

After being diagnosed with cancer, Saletta transformed her chemotherapy room into something unexpected – “Club Chemo.” 💛 Instead of silence and stillness, her infusion room is filled with music, movement and moments of joy. 🎶

Through the Arts & Healing program at Inova Schar Cancer, Caleb, an artist-in-residence musician, brings live music on her treatment days. The program is fully funded through philanthropy.
