MAPS GMU Chapter GMU's newest chapter of the Multicultural Association of Pre-Health Students. Providing students opp Any questions may be sent to maps@gmu.edu.

The Multicultural Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS), formerly the Minority Association of Premedical Students, is an organization that motivates, encourages and prepares students to become competitive applicants for medical school or other health field programs. MAPS was originally founded at GMU in the Fall of 2012 and has just recently been re-established starting Fall of 2015. As an organization we have gathered and motivated students interested in medicine to pursue their desired professions. MAPS encourages students to network and seek experiences necessary to succeed in the healthcare field. In addition to our monthly meetings, we have speakers, resume clinics, and the opportunity to attend health conferences around the DC Area and nationwide.

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE!! This is open to ANY student interested in the health field!

Are you looking for a unique volunteer experience? Inova's Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) volunteers work directly with patients and unit staff to help prevent elder patients experiencing delirium and functional decline during their hospital stay.

Volunteers must be comfortable with making physical contact with both male and female patients. This is integral to patient care. (You will not be expected to take a patient to the bathroom, bathe them, or perform any similar personal hygiene tasks on behalf of the patient)

Email maps@gmu.edu ASAP if you are interested to receive a full volunteer description and in order to get in contact with the program coordinator.

There are multiple openings at the Inova Alexandria Hospital. They are looking for dedicated and responsible volunteers.

NOTE: You must commit to one, 3 hour shift for a minimum of 6 months. Please make sure you can make this commitment.

Thank you!
