WORK EXPERIENCE
I began practicing yoga as a means of stress relief over 20 years ago. Curious to learn more, I attended Yoga Teacher Training at Wilmington Yoga in 2007. After moving from Wilmington to New Bern, I began teaching yoga to cancer patients at Twin Rivers YMCA. I also teach Yoga for Cancer at New Bern’s Comprehensive Cancer Center and lead workshops on Yoga for Stress Management. Outside of teaching yoga, I work as a Senior Manager in Oncology at ICON Clinical Research. Prior to my career in research, I worked as an Oncology Nurse in both inpatient and outpatient settings including Home Care and Hospice. I am passionate about nature and enjoy outdoor adventures including sailing, snorkeling and kayaking. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION
Registered Nurse (BSN)
Graduate degree in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (ACHS)
200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher
Certified in Yoga for Cancer (y4c)
Certified in Yoga for Stress Management (Integral Yoga)
Student of Yoga Therapy (Breathing Deeply Yoga)
Certified in Holistic Nutrition (ACHS)

After several years away, I am happy to say that I have resumed teaching Yoga for Cancer classes. These classes are sponsored by CarolinaEast Foundation and Journey of Hope. Classes are available to anyone who has had a cancer diagnosis and is being treated / followed at the SECU Comprehensive Cancer Center in New Bern NC.

Weekly classes:
Monday 6:00-7:15 PM SECU Comprehensive Cancer Center
Thursday 4:30 - 6:00 PM Twin Rivers YMCA
