Dr. Kim had the privilege of volunteering with the Westport Fire Department to provide free skin cancer screenings for their team. Firefighters spend so much time outdoors protecting our community. We want to make sure they stay safe, by caring for their skin health too.

Receiving a new diagnosis of hair loss can be disheartening. This patient received a first diagnosis of alopecia areata after meeting with Dr Brooks for new onset hair loss. After working with Dr Brooks, the patient has full regrowth after 4 months and is thrilled. While a diagnosis of alopecia areata means this patient could have other areas of involvement in the future, she now feels reassured that she has a partner to guide her through any treatments and questions.

What a difference 6 months can make! This patient met with Dr. Blake Brooks in our Center for Hair Transplantation to discuss hair loss consistent with male pattern hair loss and seborrheic dermatitis. During their hair loss consultation, Dr. Brooks and the patient discussed the diagnoses, treatment goals and treatment options. Based on patient goals, Dr Brooks started the patient on medical therapy with oral finasteride, topical minoxidil and a medicated topical shampoo. On his 6 month follow up, the patient was ecstatic. We are too! His hair should continue to improve over the coming months and we are here to support and help him along the way.
