There’s really only 2 ways to lose weight. Or at least I’m sectioning it into 2 different ways.
Both of them require a calorie deficit. However, one requires eating less food, and the other one requires eating smarter food.
Now, option one, we could eat less food, therefore, we are in a calorie deficit. Smaller portions of the same stuff we’re eating will result in weight loss. Overall weight loss.
Your body doesn’t discriminate against losing weight from fat, muscle, organ, and bone density.
If we go the other route, where we make smarter food choices, we could eat the same amount of food that we’re currently eating.
With better choices, meaning eating lower calorie foods, not packaged foods, but I mean in the sense of whole foods, vegetables, low calorie natural foods, foods that grow from the planet. Those are foods that will result in a weight loss when you eat the same amount that you’re currently eating.
The difference between these 2 is that option one, you have to get used to eating smaller portions. You have to get comfortable with feeling hungry.
Versus option 2, you have to change what you’re eating. You don’t have to get used to feeling hungry. When you eat, whole foods, natural foods, produce, meats, cheeses, whatnot.
When you eat more naturally or closer to natural, your body gets the nutrients it needs, it feels satiated (meaning it feels full). As well as your body is fueled. It’s fueled with High quality proteins, high quality carbohydrates, that are also low calorie. And high quality fats.
The difference between those 2 is when you take option one, which is eating less, and option two, which is eating smarter, both will result in a weight loss when you adhere to the programs.
However, option one doesn’t discriminate against what kind of weight you’re losing, whereas option 2, when you eat closer to whole, eat more natural foods. Your body will preserve, especially when you’re eating enough protein, your body will preserve its muscle mass and actually skip to the energy system that utilizes body fat for energy.
