This past weekend was our 18th year since we started the Holiday Remembrance Service. Each year we have had the Holiday Remembrance Service on the first Sunday in December for families who have lost loved ones over the last year. The service has music and a brief message, this year was titled, "Your Memories Are the Light That Leads My Way." After the message, family members come forward to place an ornament in honor of their loved ones on a Christmas Tree while a memorial tribute video plays in the background. Once everyone is recognized, we then turn off the lights and light the tree. After the service, families take their ornaments as a gift of remembrance during the holidays. Photos of their loved ones are then placed as placeholders for the ornaments on the Christmas Tree and the tree is positioned by the front window of the funeral home. Throughout the Holiday Season families can see the Christmas Tree in the window and remember those they have lost as they drive by.

Special thank you to Kevin Hoffman, for the piano music and Rick Guiliano, for the choral solos. Also Pastor Owen Derrick for prayers and Pastor Pete Witt for the remembrance message.

Pastors Owen Derrick and Pete Witt also deserve heartfelt thanks for leading our grief support groups throughout this first year, entitled "Harmony in Healing." Our last scheduled grief group will meet this Thursday, December 11 at 10:30 AM and 5:30 PM at Shepherd's Ground Coffee Shop. Hospice of Cincinnati will lead the discussion this month, focusing on the topic "Coping with Grief during the Holidays."

We hope you all find meaning and a renewal of your spirit during this holiday season.
