Our good friend John Marshall III's granddaughter and great grandson
On the evening of July 19th, around 6:15PM, Fairhope Elks Lodge Member, Allyson Marshall's daughter Cait (age 27) and grandson son Ollie (age 6) were in their apartment in bed watching TV together when the door was kicked in and Cait was shot 5 times by Brian Medley (age 60). Fortunately, Ollie was spared any physical trauma. Three bullets struck Cait in the chest, one hit her in the arm, shattering her Humerus Bone. Another bullet hit her in the back, hitting and passing through the middle of her liver. By God's Grace, her heart and lungs were missed. She was life flighted to USA Trauma Center in Mobile. She has been through two surgeries already, to repair her and arm. She has several more surgeries in her near future. Currently, all of the bullets are still in her body. The doctors are working one issue at a time in order of severity. Ollie saw everything and begged the shooter for his motherโs life as she was pushing him under the bed shielding him from the gunfire. While family & friends are faithful that Cait will pull through, she and Ollie have a long road of healing ahead of them.
As Elks we are called to strengthen and uplift our community and members. We ask for your thoughts and prayers for this family during this time. Please consider helping us raise funds to help with what comes next for this young mother and her son.
