Friendship Fairmont will close on December 24 at 11:30 AM and will reopen on Monday, December 29.

🎄 Waffle Wednesday – Christmas Eve Edition! 🧇✨

Hey everyone! We’re super excited to celebrate Waffle Wednesday on Christmas Eve here at Friendship Fairmont! We’ll be serving up warm, fluffy waffles with fun toppings, fresh fruit, and plenty of Christmas cheer! ❤️

Happening tomorrow!

Wednesday, Dec 17 is the Marion Co Food Pantry date. 8:30-11:30am, right beside the Union Mission.

The next food pantry pantry date isn’t until January 14th*. So if you haven’t been to the pantry yet this month, come on by!

(There are other community pantries before then, but if this is your regular pantry….i recommend coming because it’s a long wait until the next one!)

🍁 Happy Thanksgiving from Friendship Fairmont! 🍁
We have so much to be grateful for this season!

Even with a shorter week, we were able to serve 75+ individuals, and on Tuesday, we handed out another round of snack bags — all thanks to the generosity of our incredible donors. 💛

This week, we want to give a special shout-out to Ms. Marcella Yaremchuk!
Marcella is deeply involved in our community through organizations like Blessing in a Basement, the Ladies of Elks in Fairmont, and the Misfits Group. She and these groups have supported Friendship Fairmont tremendously over the past few months by providing snacks for our snack bags, coats, blankets, hats, cups, a few crockpots, and even a brand new coffee maker! If you’ve ever visited us, you know that coffee at Friendship Fairmont is a must, so replacing our broken one was such a gift. ☕💙
Thank you, Ms. Marcella, for your continued kindness and support!

To wrap up the week, we celebrated Friendsgiving with our participants! We enjoyed a delicious meal of beef stew with vegetables, potatoes, stuffing, rolls, and finished with apple crisp and vanilla ice cream. A big thank-you to Food Lion for donating a gift card to help make this feast possible. It was a wonderful day filled with gratitude, community, and warmth.

What a great week at Friendship Fairmont! 🌟

First, we want to give a HUGE thank you to all of our donors for the incredible outpouring of support. Because of you, we’re able to continue providing snack bags twice a week to our participants—this truly wouldn’t be possible without your generosity! 💙

We wrapped up another amazing week, serving 150+ individuals and connecting folks to the resources they needed.

A special thank you to Trinity Church for providing a wonderful Thanksgiving meal on Wednesday. We had a full house, and it was such a gift to gather with our participants, who we are so thankful for. ❤️

This week also marked our first week back to being open five days a week! We are now open Monday–Friday, 9 AM–4 PM. With colder weather rolling in, we were able to refer participants to our community partners—Penny Pincher and Salvation Army—for winter clothing and gear.

We were also honored to be selected by Stone Tower Brews as the recipient of their canned food drive donations! Thanks to their support, several families received items for their Thanksgiving meals, and we were able to stock additional food for use here at the center. We couldn’t be more grateful! 🥫✨

Coming up next week:
• Monday: Any Lengths Recovery Meeting @ 3 PM
• Tuesday: Day Spring Church will be serving a hot lunch at @1!
• Wednesday: A day centered around gratitude—with a little surprise in store for participants,
• Thursday & Friday: We will be closed.

With the holiday season upon us, keep an eye out for emails from us with our Amazon Wish Lists for our Holiday Bags, which we hand out during one of our Christmas lunches. This is one of our favorite traditions, and we appreciate your continued support in making this special for our participants each year. 🎄💛

We’re excited for another full and meaningful week here at Friendship Fairmont!

Tuesday: Our friends from Day Spring Church will be joining us to serve a hot lunch at 1:00 PM. We always love having this wonderful group with us — they’re so supportive and kind to the individuals we serve.

Thursday: We’ll host our Life Skills Clinic, focusing this week on helping individuals schedule and attend primary care appointments. This is such an important step toward building stability, promoting health, and encouraging wellness along each person’s journey.

Tuesday & Thursday: We will be handing out snack bags to those in need.

Friday: It’s Fresh Fruit Friday!

A big thank-you to our community for your continued support! The generous donations we received last week are helping us keep our Snack Bag Program going strong. Your kindness truly makes a difference.

Changing of the Guard at Friendship Fairmont!

Big changes are happening at Friendship Fairmont! Two of our longtime team members, Chuck and Maggie, are moving on to new career paths.

We want to extend our deepest thanks to these two very special people for the many years they have dedicated to our community. Through their leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment, they helped shape Friendship Fairmont into what it is today.

Chuck and Maggie have served our unsheltered neighbors and those facing addiction and mental health challenges with incredible kindness and empathy. Their impact has been profound, and their absence will be deeply felt by our team and all those we serve.

We wish them every success and happiness in the next chapter of their journey.

As temperatures begin to drop, we're taking action to keep our community safe and warm.
Today we began distributing cold weather kits to our participants who sleep outside. These kits include a few simple but essential items—gear that can make a real difference in staying warm through the night. Sometimes, it's the smallest things that bring the greatest comfort.
