Person Centered Care means that the Elders are put first. One would think that the Elders should always come first, but in a traditional nursing home, the majority of the daily operatjional activities and decisions are centered around staff and operational efficiency This type of system often puts the Elder's needs and preferences at the bottom of the list. In a Person centered environment, the Elder is thought of at all times and their well being is evaluated no matter what decision is being made. Fairview Manor is a registered Eden Alternative Facility. We were honored with this distinction in May of 2001 when we were recognized for our accomplishments in implementing the Eden Philosophy to our home. We are made up of two households, and are working on construction for new household additions due for completion in the summer of 2010. Along with our Elders, children, and continuous staffing in each household, we have an array of birds, four cats- Roscoe, Scruffy, Annie, and Tinkerbell, and two dogs- Humphrey and Buddie.
