Cynthia Lucille Wertz, age 73, of Reed City, Michigan, was surrounded by family as she passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on October 27, 2025.Born in Lansing, Michigan, Cynthia lived a life rooted in love, faith, and service. As a nurse, she cared for others with gentle hands and a compassionate heart. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she poured herself fully into her familyāalways giving, always showing up, always loving without limit.Cynthia was a strong woman in every sense of the word. She faced life with courage, grit, and grace, standing firm in her beliefs and protecting those she loved with unwavering devotion. She had a fierce spirit and an honest heartāsomeone who didnāt back down from lifeās challenges and inspired others to do the same.Cynthiaās greatest joy was found in the company of those she cherished. Whether cheering from the sidelines at her grandkidsā games, raising her beloved English Labradors, fishing on quiet Michigan waters, or simply sharing laughter and stories with family, she found beauty in lifeās everyday blessings. Her deep faith in Jesus and her love for country music were constants in her lifeāsteady reminders of her spirit, strength, and joy.She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Calvin Maguire and Valvetta Collette Hamilton, and by her grandson, Shayne Ackerberg.Cynthia is survived by her husband: Daniel Lee Wertz, Her Children: Tom (Tammy) Kanouse; Steve (Scharline) Kanouse; Forrest Kanouse ; Chris (Paula) Kanouse; Carina (Matt) Dalbec; and Daniel (Kate) Ashcroft. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren: Matthew (Jessi) Kanouse; Joshua (Megan) Kanouse; Kelli (Bryan) Gleason; Aaron (Hadassah) Kanouse; Jacob Kanouse; Kari (Kyle) Klunder; Brandon Ackerberg; Dylan Ashcroft; Madeline Ashcroft; Eloise Dalbec; Brayden Dalbec; Michael Ashcroft; Noah Ashcroft; and Damian Ashcroft; along with 21 great-grandchildren who will carry her memory and love forward for generations to come.Cynthiaās life was a testament to kindness, faith, and steadfast love. She had a way of appearing exactly when she was needed mostāan angel in blue jeans, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of comfort. Her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on November 29, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Lincoln Township Hall in Reed City, Michigan, where family and friends will gather to remember and rejoice in the beautiful life she lived.
