Responding to calls for service around the clock, we answered over 5,200 requests in 2021. Beyond emergency response, we offer CPR, First Aid, and Stop the Bleed training regularly. As an American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site, we're aligned with Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY. Our nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians are available to inspect car seats on a regular or by appointment basis. Keep track of our next inspection station times by checking the Events tab regularly! Our loan cupboard offers temporary usage of mobility aids, including canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs. Some items are in heavy demand and are subject to certain restrictions; please call or visit our base to learn of current availability.

Hospital-grade care doesn’t stop at the ER doors. In the 911 setting, Perinton Ambulance uses **Sapphire IV infusion pumps** to support **safe, accurate medication dosing** and **controlled fluid delivery**—even when conditions are fast-moving and unpredictable.

With **4 pumps in service** across our primary ambulances and flycars, our **EMS teams** have another layer of precision to help deliver the right care, the right way, when seconds matter.

In light of recent discussions on other social platforms, we want to be clear: We do NOT charge for "just checking your blood pressure." In fact, we offer several free blood pressure clinics each month at the Community Center and other locations around town.

Join us at the Town of Perinton, New York Community Center lobby each week for a free arm hug! February's dates are:
• Wednesday, February 4, 9:00 to 11:00 am
• Tuesday, February 10th, 9:00 to 11:00 am
• Wednesday, February 18th, 9:00 to 11:00 am
• Tuesday, February 24th, 9:00 to 11:00 am

You can also stop into our base during normal office hours (approximately 8:30 to 4:30) for a measurement.

Perinton Ambulance took our agency to the next level! At midnight we went live with a new charting program for our agency. ImageTrend is a leader in EMS charting software. The new program will streamline our medical documentation for our crews, streamlines processes, direct integration with our billing software, and will provide in depth data analytics that will drive quality improvement and enhanced clinical care. These changes are a large investment by Perinton Ambulance to bring the highest level of care and service to our community! Our team has worked diligently over the last several months to build out and implement the next level of documentation. As always, we thank the community for your continued support of our mission!

Our friends at Irondequoit Ambulance, Inc. explained this very well. This is a long(ish) post, but helps explain why calling 9-1-1 isn't always the best option, especially when it seems everyone you know is sick!

** Please note: we ALWAYS encourage calling 9-1-1 if there is ANY doubt as to the severity of someone's illness or injury.**

As the news has been reporting, this cold and flu season has hit especially hard early this year across all age groups.

We as an EMS agency have seen an influx in call volume for these types of calls which has placed increased call volume on EMS resources as well as heavy strain on our local hospitals.

We do want to advise anyone who may be transported that being transported in an ambulance does not guarantee a room at the hospital.

Once at the hospital our EMS providers follow the guidance of hospital staff on where they would like patients placed once we walk into the emergency room.

As we enter the normal season for increased of cold, flu, and airborne respiratory illness we would like to give some guidance of when you should call for an ambulance.

When should I call an ambulance?

A majority of these cases can be treated by a P*P (Primary Care Physician) or an Urgent care.

There are times when an ambulance is absolutely necessary. The following is a short list of cases when you should call 911 for an ambulance:

- Chest pain
- Respiratory distress
- Trauma
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Seizures
- Signs and symptoms of a stroke
- Unconscious or unresponsive person

As always if you feel that you’re experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency don’t hesitate to call 911.

If you’re not experiencing an immediate medical emergency and there is no need for an ambulance most cases can be treated at an Urgent Care.

Urgent Cares are front line defense in handling cases that don’t need intervention in an emergency department.
