This weekend. Fairport Canal Days! It’s sure to be fun and the weather looks fantastic!

The 2023 Fairport Canal Days poster contest winner is Heidi Eriksson , a local hobby photographer specializing in nature shots around New York State. A single mom of a 15-year-old and with a demanding career, photography and live music are her passions. After returning to NY 8 years ago, she has seen Fairport flourish and finds beauty in the quaint village setting.

She shoots with a Nikon D3200 SLR as well as iPhone 12pro. This poster photo was edited using an app called Prisma to enhance the saturation and give it an artistic, painted look and it captures everything iconic about Fairport: the lift bridge, the boats, the sign and the beautiful sunsets on the Erie Canal.

Posters will be on sale at the festival all weekend. Heidi will be available to sign posters Friday starting at 5pm at the Chicken BBQ, and all weekend at her booth SMW219.
