✨ Journey to the Heart ✨

Many of our teachers are inspired by Journey to the Heart by Melody Beattie. This book is filled with gentle reminders, daily reflections, and honest wisdom. You may hear passages shared in class or feel its influence woven into themes, intentions, and moments of pause on the mat.

This book invites us to slow down, listen inward, and meet ourselves with compassion — exactly what we aim to cultivate together in our practice. Each reflection is a reminder that healing doesn’t have to be rushed, growth doesn’t have to be perfect, and we don’t have to do it alone.

At Hope Yoga, we believe in creating space where we can heal, grow, and thrive — together. Whether the words land softly or stir something deeper, may they support you right where you are. 💚📖✨

✨ Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays from Hope Yoga ✨

As this season unfolds, we want to take a moment to say thank you. To our Hope Yoga community — your presence, trust, and continued support mean more than words can express. You are the heart of this space, and we are deeply grateful to walk alongside you.

We also recognize that the holidays can bring up a wide range of emotions. For some, this time may feel joyful and light. For others, it may carry grief, stress, loneliness, or tender memories — and for many, it can be a mix of it all. However this season shows up for you, your experience is valid.

At Hope Yoga, you are always welcome just as you are. We are here to offer grounding, connection, and support. Whether you’re seeking movement, rest, reflection, or simply a place to feel held, there is a space for you.

May this season be gentle with you. We’re honored to support you through every season — together.

With so much love and gratitude,
Hope Yoga 💚✨

At Hope Yoga, community is the heart of everything we do. 💚
It’s where we come to be seen, supported, and reminded that we don’t have to carry life alone.

Together, we create space to move through grief, transform it into resilience, and rediscover strength we may have forgotten was there. Through breath, movement, stillness, and connection, we heal, grow, and learn how to thrive — together.

We are deeply honored to walk this path with each of you. Thank you for showing up, for sharing your stories, and for being part of this beautiful, supportive community.

We can’t wait to celebrate, practice, and continue growing together in the year ahead. ✨

A bit of an adjustment to some days at the studio this week and next due to the holidays. Giving our amazing team time to pause and spend time how they need.

Adjusted days are Wednesday 12/24 and Wednesday 12/31 with a morning only on those days. Wednesday 12/24 we are completely full and cannot accept walk-ins for classes. 💚

We will be closed Thursday 12/25 and Thursday 1/1. Normal schedules will resume on the Friday after the holidays!

Be on the lookout for events coming up in January 🤗

In your yoga practice, this shows up every time a pose feels different than it did yesterday. A tighter hamstring. A shaky balance. A tired nervous system. The invitation isn’t to push harder or judge the moment. The invitation is to pause, listen, and adjust.

Some days your center of gravity is strong and steady. Other days it asks for blocks, a wider stance, a softer breath, or rest. All of it is practice. All of it counts.

Yoga teaches us that growth doesn’t come from forcing ourselves into the shape. Growth comes from meeting ourselves where we are and finding a new way to stand, breathe, and be present. 🧘🏻‍♀️

Your mat is a place to practice adaptability, compassion, and trust. These are skills that carry far beyond the pose. 💚

Linda Sambrook is a beloved member of the Hope Yoga community and one of our cherished teachers. Over the past year, Linda has been courageously navigating her journey with breast cancer—showing strength, grace, and resilience even in the face of immense uncertainty. While Linda is doing well and continuing forward with treatment and recovery, the financial burden of medical bills, time away from work, and ongoing care has been incredibly difficult to manage. As so many people know firsthand, cancer doesn’t just impact the body—it affects every area of life.

Linda has always shown up for others with compassion, steadiness, and heart. Through her teaching, she has held space for healing, presence, and connection, offering countless students a place to breathe, move, and feel supported. Now, it’s our turn to hold space for her. We created a GoFundMe to help ease the financial stress Linda continues to carry so she can focus her energy where it matters most—on healing, rest, and recovery.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps lift some of the weight she’s been bearing and reminds her that she is not walking this path alone. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page or holding Linda in your thoughts means just as much. Thank you for showing up with love, generosity, and community spirit—this is what Hope Yoga is all about. 💚

Marjaryāsana–Bitilāsana: Cat-Cow Pose 🐈🐄

A simple yet powerful flow that invites the spine to move, the breath to deepen, and the body to soften. Cat–Cow is often practiced at the beginning of class to warm the body and bring awareness inward.

Benefits
✨ Gently warms and mobilizes the spine
✨Releases tension in the neck, shoulders, and back
✨Improves posture and spinal flexibility
✨ Supports digestion and circulation
✨Connects breath with movement, calming the nervous system

How to Practice
• Begin on hands and knees in a tabletop position
• Inhale for Cow Pose (Bitilāsana): drop the belly, lift the chin, heart space and tailbone, gaze forward or up
• Exhale for Cat Pose (Marjaryāsana): round the spine, press the floor away, tuck the chin toward your heart space
• Continue flowing slowly with your breath for several rounds

Options + Variations
• Practice seated in a chair or cross-legged for a gentler variation
• Keep the gaze neutral to reduce neck strain
• Add a blanket under your knees for more support
• Move smaller or slower, focusing on sensation rather than shape
• Add intuitive movement — circles, side bends, or pauses where your body asks

A reminder that even small movements, done with presence, can create space, ease, and connection within. ✨💚
