We received this incredibly kind review this week, and it truly made our whole team pause and smile:

“This place is awesome! I left work in tremendous pain due to a major toothache. Walked in with extreme anxiety and told the staff I need help. The entire staff were extremely polite and listened to my concerns. Assured me that they could assist with my dental needs all while being aware of my nerves and anxiety. They squeezed me in for a THOROUGH exam. Got me a prescription and a plan to do the root canal. I called a day later requesting to be seen sooner for the surgery. They made room for me and understood the amount of pain and discomfort I was in. The procedure went GREAT! I was informed of every step and they made sure I was comfortable the entire time! This was my first time seeing a dentist since the military and this place was awesome!”

This patient walked into our office just minutes before closing last week, in severe pain and feeling extremely anxious about dental treatment. Even at the end of a very busy day (and an even busier month!), our team could see how much he was hurting and in need of help. We got him settled in a space where he felt comfortable, completed a thorough exam, and created a plan to get him out of pain as quickly and gently as possible.

Dental anxiety is something we take very seriously at our office. Many of our patients struggle with it, and we always do our best to meet everyone with empathy, patience, and clear communication. It means so much to us to hear that he felt supported, safe, and well cared for, especially after avoiding the dentist for years.

We were honored to be able to help him, and we’re grateful he trusted us during such a stressful moment. ❤️

Reviews like this remind us why we do what we do… even on the days when we feel like we’re running around like chickens with our heads cut off. Thank you to every patient who takes the time to share their experience with us. It truly makes a difference!

Employee Spotlight: Meet Jasmine!

Jasmine is the newest member of our clinical team and one of our amazing dental assistants! Before joining Lone Star Family Dental, she worked for several years at a local eyelash studio that Paige frequented. Paige was always impressed by Jasmine’s friendliness, professionalism, and how she made everyone around her feel at ease. So, when Jasmine mentioned she was looking for a new opportunity, Paige knew she’d be a perfect fit for our team- and she was right!

Since joining us this summer, Jasmine has learned so much and recently became an official Registered Dental Assistant! Her calm, caring personality makes patients feel comfortable in the chair, and her down-to-earth nature and warm smile brighten everyone’s day. She fits into our team like a puzzle piece.

Jasmine is from Blue Ridge, TX, and when she’s not at work, she loves spending time with her boyfriend, Austin, who’s a farmer. You can often find her out on the farm helping feed the cows or relaxing with her dog. She’s a big fan of country music (especially the classics!) and keeps our office playlist fresh with her favorite old-school country tunes. Jasmine is a big lover of Mexican food and she hopes to someday travel to Colorado and learn how to ski!

We’re so happy to have Jasmine on our team! Her positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and genuine heart make her such a wonderful addition to the Lone Star Family Dental family.

Employee Spotlight: Meet Tiffany!

Tiffany has been a part of the Lone Star Family Dental team for two years and works in our front office as a Patient Scheduling Coordinator and Insurance Specialist. She’s often one of the first friendly faces our patient’s see- helping to make sure appointments run smoothly and insurance questions are handled with care. What Tiffany loves most about working here? “Our team communicates so well, and we don’t have the drama that so many dental offices do,” she said. “I love being able to help patients and make their treatment plans feel easy and seamless.”

Her journey into dentistry has a personal side- Tiffany experienced dental anxiety as a child after a difficult dental visit. That experience inspired her to work in dentistry and help others feel comfortable and informed about their care. She says that watching Dr. McElvain take time to educate and reassure patients has made a huge impact on her, both professionally and personally.

Originally from Wylie, TX, Tiffany served in the Army and lived in Louisiana for five years before returning home in 2016 to be near family when she was pregnant with her daughter. Now, she’s a proud mom of three - Brooklyn (8), Leviticus “Levi” (6), and Liam (3) -who keep her busy and laughing, always! When she’s not at work, you’ll find Tiffany and her family outdoors on scooters and skateboards or spending time with the dog she’s watching long-term for her sister, who’s stationed in Guam with her military family.

Around the office, Tiffany is known for her cheerful energy and for breaking into song when a favorite tune comes on! (Dr. McElvain says he can’t hear “Farmer’s Daughter” without thinking of her singing it.) A few fun facts about Tiffany: she loves Italian food (or anything smothered in her dad’s homemade barbecue sauce!), peppermint hot chocolate, and the Fourth Wing book series. If she could travel anywhere, she’d go straight to Guam to visit her sister and nieces.

We’re so grateful to have Tiffany as part of our Lone Star Family Dental family - her positivity, warmth, and compassion brighten our office every single day!

Employee Spotlight: Meet Jyrriell!

Jyrriell has been a part of the Lone Star Family Dental team for one year and serves as our Scheduling Coordinator and Insurance Specialist. She’s the friendly voice helping patients navigate what can sometimes be the trickiest part of dental care- insurance! She takes pride in being someone patients can rely on to explain their benefits clearly and make sure their appointments go smoothly.

Originally from New Orleans, Jyrriell moved to Texas in 2022 after welcoming her son, Kylo, earlier that year. Jyrriell is a full time student at Collin College and is close to being ready to apply to the dental hygiene program at TWU. When she’s not at the office or school, she loves cooking, watching rom-coms, spending quality time with her 3-year-old, and attending Bible study at One Community Church. We’re constantly in awe of how she manages it all- working full time, going to school full time, and raising a busy 3-year-old. “Super mom” doesn’t even begin to cover it!

Around the office, Jyrriell is known for her ever-changing hairstyles- she loves expressing her creativity and style through her look! Her go-to coffee order is the seasonal Gingerbread Oat Milk Chai from Starbucks (yum!), and lately, she’s been loving the podcast In Totality by Megan Ashley- a faith-based show that helps believers grow in their walk. If she weren’t pursuing a degree in dental hygiene, she’d go to culinary school! And if she could only eat one meal for the rest of her life, it would be Lebanese food- specifically from her favorite hometown restaurant, Lebanon’s, in New Orleans.

We’re so thankful for the warmth, positivity, and professionalism Jyrriell brings to our team each day. She’s a joy to have as part of our Lone Star family!

Employee Spotlight: Meet Maddie!

Maddie has been a part of the Lone Star Family Dental team for almost 3 years as one of our wonderful dental assistants. She loves the variety her role brings each day and the chance to use her hands on skills in so many different ways.

Maddie has a big year ahead as she and her husband are expecting their first baby, a little boy, this December! She grew up in Wylie and moved back to the area to be closer to her family. When she’s not at work, you’ll often find her being crafty, spending time with her husband and their two cats, or catching the latest movie in theatres- they’re big film buffs! Maddie is also a huge fan of her hometown teams, cheering on the Mavs, Cowboys, and Rangers whenever she can.

Some of Maddie’s favorites include iced white chocolate mochas, tacos (her forever meal of choice), and rewatching Gilmore Girls and The Vampire Diaries every year. If she could pack her bags tomorrow, she’d head back to Paris or check Japan off her travel wish list.

We’re so grateful for everything Maddie brings to our team!

Sweet 3 year old Liam did an amazing job during his treatment last week! He lovingly calls Dr. McDaniel “Dr. Grandpa” and always asks to see him. Dr. McDaniel’s gentle touch and kind heart makes all the difference for our little patients. 💙
