A new study has revealed that IV bags — a staple of modern medicine — could be sending microplastics directly into your bloodstream during hospital infusions.

🔎 Researchers analyzed infusion fluids and found:

• Up to 7,500 microplastic particles per litre
• Mostly polypropylene (the same plastic used in medical packaging)
• Particle sizes ranging from 1–62 micrometres — small enough to circulate in the body
