Umberto will be remembered for his extraordinary work ethic, determination, and pride in all that he built. Beginning his career as a laborer 56 years ago, he steadily rose through the ranks to become a foreman, ultimately running and owning Senra Excavating. His dedication, leadership, and commitment to doing things the right way earned him the respect of all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Above all else, Umberto was a devoted father and a loving grandfather. He played a constant and cherished role in the lives of his grandchildren, helping to raise them, proudly picking them up from school, and never missing an important event. His presence, guidance, and unwavering love were gifts his family will forever treasure.

Umberto found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved gardening, spending time outdoors, and cooking, especially preparing his beloved Sunday lunches that brought everyone together. He was a passionate fan of S.L. Benfica and known for his infectious smile and unmistakable laugh that could brighten any room. A lifelong parishioner of St. Michael Parish, Umberto remained deeply devoted to his faith and church throughout his life.

The thing that Bob enjoyed most was hosting parties at his home. Christmas Eve and July 4th were annual events. Bob and Pam would cook for days in preparation for the parties. Bob had a way of making everyone feel welcome even if he did not know you when you got there, he was a friend when you left.

John was a man who truly savored life. An enthusiastic winemaker, he took pride in crafting his own wine and sharing bottles with family and friends. When he wasn’t making wine, John enjoyed fishing, traveling to Portugal, Canada and Italy and watching soccer.

Alda had a deep love for travel and was truly a world traveler. Among her favorite destinations were her beloved Portugal, as well as Florida, Alaska, and Cuba. Her journeys reflected her adventurous spirit and appreciation for experiencing the beauty of different places and cultures. In her early years, Alda worked as a nurse at Clínica de Bom Jesus in Ponta Delgada, where she cared for others with compassion and dedication. She later devoted more than 50 years of her life to her work as a talented seamstress. Through her creativity and passion, she brought beauty into the lives of many, pouring care and pride into every piece she made.

Alda was known for her generous heart and willingness to lend a helping hand to friends and family. She cherished life’s simple pleasures, meeting friends for coffee, spending meaningful time with her beloved family, and most especially embracing her role as grandmother. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She found peace and happiness at the beach, particularly while watching the sunsets in Newport, moments that reflected her quiet appreciation for life’s beauty.

Alda will be remembered for her warmth, strength, kindness, and the deep love she had for her family.

Jose before immigrating to the United States worked as a government administrator in public services to improve citizens lives . Living in U.S.A. he worked as a machine operator at Ark-Les Corp, where he dedicated more than forty years of service. He will be remembered for his generous heart and the joy he found in caring for others, especially when it came to feeding those around him when extended family or company visited their home. Jose took great pride in making sure everyone was comfortable and cared for, often tidying up without hesitation and always making sure no one left hungry. He loved simple pleasures, including his cherished visits to Old Country Buffet, enjoying his favorite meal, Portuguese octopus, and having sweets and coffee at the table or under the grape vine with his family.

Above all, Jose was a loving and devoted husband, endlessly supportive and helpful to his beloved wife. His greatest pride and happiness, however, was his role as a Father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He adored his grandchildren, showering them with generosity, love, and countless memories. From trips to McDonald’s, Portuguese feasts, and Chuck E. Cheese, to summer days at Ames Pond, visits to local parks, feeding ducks, and treasured travels to Portugal and Canada. He was always there, happily babysitting his grandchildren or great-grandchildren so their parents could work or enjoy a night out. Jose also took great pride in his appearance, known for being exceptionally neat and particular about his looks.
