For Move-it Monday, you don't need weights! Simple arm movements will work to get your blood flowing. You can pretend like you are doing a bicep curl and engage your muscles as if they are moving through water to get a similar effect. Exercise bands are also an inexpensive alternative to weights.

Awareness of grief milestones is a first step in getting through the difficult days. Whether it is one month since a loss or 5 years, or an anniversary or birthday, these days are some of the most challenging. Having an intentional plan for commemorating your loved one can help. Some find comfort in visiting the grave, lighting a candle at home, or having a meal with family to celebrate the person's life. Whatever you choose, we wish you grace as you travel your grief journey.

Earth Day provides an opportunity to enjoy nature and give back to it. Pick up around your favorite park or water source. Watch birds, bees, and wildlife in their natural habitat. Plant a native tree or plant that attracts native insects. Enjoy these activities with young people and spread the joy of taking care of our planet with them!

ArtREADS Book Club
Thursday, April 23, 2026 | 6:00–8:00 PM
New Bedford Art Museum
608 Pleasant Street, New Bedford, MA
Be part of the conversation where art and literature meet. ArtREADS is the New Bedford Art Museum’s book club, a welcoming, discussion-based gathering designed for those who enjoy reading as a shared experience. Each session centers around a selected book, inviting participants to read in advance and come together to reflect, discuss, and explore ideas in a thoughtful, engaging setting. For this session, the group will discuss The Power and the Glory by Graham Greene—a novel set in 1930s Mexico that follows a conflicted priest navigating faith, morality, and survival under political persecution. Whether you come ready to share or simply to listen, the experience is grounded in curiosity, conversation, and connection.

Ride to Freedom: A Revolutionary Family Celebration
Saturday, April 18, 2026 | 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Fall River Carousel & Waterfront
Look back in history and find freedom. Ride to Freedom invites families to celebrate the anniversary of Paul Revere’s famous ride with an afternoon of interactive experiences along the Fall River waterfront.
Part of Massachusetts’ statewide America 250 commemoration, this event blends storytelling and play—offering hands-on activities, living history moments, and a special appearance by Paul Revere himself, who will take a symbolic ride on the Fall River Carousel. Presented in partnership with the Lafayette-Durfee House, the program highlights the role everyday people played in shaping the early days of the nation—making history feel both accessible and immediate. Designed for all ages, this is a chance to explore the past in a way that feels engaging, lively, and rooted in community.
