February is National Heart Month! Did you know that heart disease is the number one cause of death in the US? During Heart Month in February and throughout the year, make your heart health a priority. Here are a few helpful tips on keeping your heart beating strong:

-Quit smoking/tobacco/vaping.
-Balance healthy eating and physical activity to lose weight more easily and keep it off.
-Sleep can affect your heart health, so remember to get between 7-9 hours each night.
-Get your blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar checked, as these can all affect your heart health.

Recognize the symptoms of a possible heart attack, including chest discomfort, shortness of breath, nausea and lightheadedness. Remember, men and women can present with different symptoms. Call 911 immediately.
