💬Posture plays a major role💡 in how your body moves, performs, and manages pain💥. Whether you are dealing with neck tension, shoulder discomfort, low back pain, or recurring injuries, posture🧍 is often part of the picture. A physical therapy📝🧐 postural assessment goes beyond simply asking someone to “stand up straight.” It is a detailed evaluation of alignment, side-to-side symmetry, and movement patterns to determine how your body is distributing load⚖️.

✨Happy Wednesday from the Clinic 🐾
We loved❤️ having one of our patients bring his fuzzy family member to his physical therapy appointment this week! Before starting exercises💪, we shared a quick warm up filled with dog love as his pup joined Grizz and Panda for some tail wagging support. 📸Moments like these make us so grateful and happy. 🫶Thank you for letting us capture this sweet moment together!

🤳Patient Success Spotlight✨

▫️This patient presented to Respire Physical Therapy with low back pain💥 and decreased core endurance which limited lifting and standing🧍🏻‍♀️ for long periods. The evaluation noted📝 decreased abdominal bracing strength and lumbar extensor endurance.

▫️ In this video📹, the patient is performing overhead marching walks while holding a weight above their head. This exercise stabilizes her spine against rotation forces while also activating🧠💡 her lumbar extensors to engage isometrically to encourage👍 upright spinal posture. We are happy🥳👏 to share that this patient is now back to doing her daily activities without back pain or stiffness. Congratulations🏆🥇 on all your success!

💬Osteoporosis🦴 is often called a “silent condition”🤐 because bone loss occurs gradually and without obvious symptoms—until a fracture🏥 happens. For many adults, especially those over 50, decreased bone density can increase the risk of hip, spine, and wrist fractures💥 that affect independence and quality of life🏡.
The encouraging news📰 is that osteoporosis is manageable✨.

🤳Patient Success Spotlight!✨
▪️This patient presented to Respire Physical Therapy with foot pain👣💥 that gave him pain when walking in the morning⛅️. The initial evaluation📝 revealed foot eversion and inversion weakness, plantar fascia tightness, and decreased single-leg balance and proprioception.

▪️ In this video📹, the patient is performing a single-leg stance on a foam surface to build ankle inversion/eversion stability while improving single leg balance/proprioception. The unstable surface challenges🧠💡 his foot and ankle to make constant micro-adjustments, activating the intrinsic foot muscles and lateral ankle stabilizers to maintain alignment. After working hard💪, we are happy🥳 to share that this patient is able to walk in the morning without✨ any foot pain. 🏆Congratulations on all your success👏!

💬Knee🦵💥 injuries are one of the most common injuries🤕 seen in both athletes⛷️⚽️🏀 and active adults🏃‍♀️, and one of the most frequently injured structures in the knee is the ACL, or anterior cruciate ligament. You may have heard🧐 about ACL injuries when professional athletes go down with knee injuries, but ACL tears can happen to anyone from weekend warriors🏋️‍♂️ to people simply stepping off a curb 🚏🚸awkwardly.

🦵ACL Rehab Spotlight✨
🔹This patient presented to Respire Physical Therapy after he suffered an ACL tear playing soccer⚽️🥅 and cutting awkwardly. The initial evaluation📝 found decreased hamstring strength and decreased dynamic knee control🧠⚡️, which are critical for protecting the ACL.

🔹 In this video📹, the physical therapist is testing peak 🏔️isometric hamstring muscle strength and force using a dynamometer by having the patient resist knee flexion with maximal effort. This objective muscle test🧐 helps confirm symmetrical hamstring strength and adequate force production⚖️ needed to safely decelerate, sprint, cut, and change direction during soccer. We are happy👏🥳🎊 and excited to share that this patient was able to return to soccer without limitations ⚽️💪🏆
