Hello Everyone!

I wanted to make a sad 😢, but necessary announcement for my Harrisonburg clients. Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, I am closing the Harrisonburg location in August 2025.

I am simultaneously opening an outpatient clinic in Falls Church, VA (Northern VA near Washington DC), offering outpatient pediatric OT and Medicaid Waiver Therapeutic Consultation services, both in-person and virtual.

I will still be offering virtual consultations and telehealth options starting mid-August 2025 or earlier, if needed, to those who are not able to make the drive to the Falls Church location. Please let me know if you would be interested in virtual services, phone consultations, or virtual parent support groups specific to behavior, diagnosis, or self-regulation/coping skills.

It is our pleasure to officially introduce Mary Craver, another wonderful member of the FFP team! Mary runs the practice in our Maryland branch and has been on staff with us since August of 2021. She has been in private practice for 25 years and has over 36 years of experience. Mary graduated from Towson University in 1985 with a B.S. in occupational therapy and in 1991 with a M.S. in occupational therapy with a pediatric specialty. Affiliates have included John’s Hopkins, Kennedy Krieger, Children’s Hospital National Medical Center, The Reginald Lorie Center, and Weinfeld Education Group. She was certified in Sensory Integration and Praxis Testing in 1989 and Pediatric Neuro-developmental Treatment in 1994. These certifications have enabled her to detect and treat sensorimotor problems affecting higher-level skills. She is best known for her warm, engaging approach in working with children. Mary brings so much wisdom and experiential knowledge to the team, and we are so glad to have her!

We are excited to introduce another new member of the Future Forward team, Misty Williams! Misty graduated from JMU with a Master’s in Occupational Therapy in 2008. Prior to this, she studied Health Sciences and Nutrition at UNC Greensboro with a focus in Athletic Training. Her career focus thus far has included specializing in rehabilitation with the geriatric population including dementia care. She has worked in skilled nursing facilities, adult outpatient, rehab, and acute care settings.

Misty has recently become interested in transitioning to the pediatric population. She is certified in Vestibular Rehabilitation, Vision Techniques for Eye Movement Disorders, and Brain Gym 101 Training - Balance for Daily Life. She has a passion for treating eye movement disorders to improve focus, attention, reading, writing, and everyday functional activities. Her caring approach aims to help individuals have confidence that they can succeed. Welcome to the team, Misty!

It is our pleasure to introduce you all to the newest member of our Future Forward Pediatrics team! Please welcome Erin Buckingham, OTD, OTR/L. Erin joined us in May as an OT but has been part of the Future Forward Team since January as a Capstone Student.

“Hello! My name is Erin Buckingham and I am a recent graduate of Mary Baldwin University - Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences Doctorate of OT Program. I grew up in Suffield, Connecticut, but I moved to Virginia to pursue my education in occupational therapy. During my free time, I enjoy reading, crocheting stuffed animals, baking, and snuggling my cat. I love occupational therapy because of the relationship-based and holistic nature of the profession. I believe in meeting your child where they are and celebrating each step forward, no matter the size. I am so excited to work with you and your child at Future Forward Pediatrics!”
