Progressive Pediatric Therapy Progressive Pediatric Therapy is a full service pediatric therapy practice located in Falls Church, Our practice provides PT, OT, SLP, and Art Therapies.

Progressive Pediatric Therapy is a pediatric therapy practice located in Falls Church, Virginia. We serve infants, toddlers, and school aged children using a child-focused developmental play program. We work with children with a range of needs including developmental delay, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, orthopedic problems, hypo and hypertonia, Torticollis, Premature infants, and many others. Our therapy programs are on a one-on-one basis with a licensed therapist. Each session is individualized to meet the needs of the child and the family.

Dear PPT Families šŸ’™

After more than 25 wonderful years as the owner of Progressive Pediatric Therapy, Iā€™m sharing some exciting and heartfelt news. As I begin planning for retirement and the next chapter of my life, Iā€™ve made the decision to sell the practice and welcome a new owner.

It brings me great joy to introduce Laura Punaro as the new leader of PPT. Laura has dedicated her career to caring for children and supporting familiesā€”from pediatric intensive care nursing to public health and school nursingā€”and she brings both professional excellence and deep compassion to this role. She is truly the perfect fit for our practice.

We know that change can feel uncertain, especially when it involves your childā€™s care. Please know that our priority is a seamless transition. The same therapists you know and trust will continue providing care, and Iā€™ll remain closely involved over the coming months to ensure everything continues smoothly.

This is a bittersweet moment for me. Building this practice and watching your children grow has been the honor of my life. While I prepare for my next adventureā€”enjoying my empty nest and moving with my husband to our dream home in Glens Falls, NYā€”I do so with complete confidence in PPTā€™s future.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me with your children and allowing me to be part of your lives. Laura and I are both excited for whatā€™s ahead and look forward to continuing to serve your families for many years to come.

My final Jingle Bell Jog was yesterday. It was a chilly start, but soon the sun shone and the smiles and joy made it seem much warmer than it was! As always, Iā€™m humbled by this community, in awe of the abilities and the grit, and overwhelmed by the love and friendship. Itā€™s such a beautiful day. Iā€™m going to miss this all. Social skills groups can be incredibly valuable for children in pediatric therapy because they give kids a safe, supportive place to practice interacting with others in real time. In a small-group setting, children can learn turn-taking, communication, emotional regulation, and problem-solving with guidance from a therapistā€”skills that are sometimes harder to build in one-on-one sessions. These groups also help kids feel understood and less alone, boosting confidence as they form friendships and learn how to navigate social situations. Ultimately, social skills groups turn real-life moments into learning opportunities, helping children grow both socially and emotionally.

ends today with memories of all of the best days! Jingle Bell Jog is my most favorite time of year. Watching kids of all abilities participate in a community event made simply for them. Watching them compete and laugh as they happily collect their stickers and their medals. Watching faces getting painted by friends and therapists. Itā€™s just simply joy.
So on this Thanksgiving Eve, and Nostalgia Novemberā€”thank you. Thank everyone of you for making this event, this clinic, this community be the very very BEST!
