Advanced ACL rehab isn’t about just “graduating” from basic exercises — it’s about restoring real-life strength, stability, and confidence.
In outpatient PT, once swelling is down and foundational strength is back, we progress to:
• Progressive, heavy lower extremity strengthening
• Single-leg loading & symmetry work
• Sit ↔ stand power
• Dynamic balance & uneven surface work
• Deceleration and controlled directional changes
• Objective functional testing (not just “it feels good”)
After an ACL injury or reconstruction, rehab should prepare you for:
• Busy workdays
• Long walks
• Chasing kids
• Navigating crowds, stairs, and uneven surfaces
