✨ ASPIRATION ✨

Each of us who lives by Natural Law will become a center through whom the forces and influences of restoration may operate to conquer evil. Those who have purified their nature may be compared to a dynamo that generates a subtle but powerful force. Guided by wisdom, such a force may set into operation vast mechanisms to produce many forms of good over which no evil shall ultimately prevail. In this way every individual who obeys the Laws of the Body, Mind, and Soul powerfully reinforces the work of restoring such portions of the human race as can be reached.

Our ideals should always conform to the standard of a perfected nature. Each form of life tends toward the state of perfection possible to its kind—or else contravention arrests growth, and degeneration begins. Our individual development is comparable to this. We must either progress to the apex of human excellence or, from any point at which growth is checked, we will retrograde. The individual souls who have purified their natures become cognizant of ONENESS with Divinity and have reached the highest possible point to which aspiration leads.

From the Rays of the Dawn chapter: HATRED

If we should draw a horizontal line and call it the relationship of personalities, we would place LOVE, which is the highest attribute of the human soul, at one end, and at the other end we would place its opposite, HATRED. Every thought, act or expression between personalities must, of necessity, find its resting place somewhere along this line. Hatred is the negative aspect of that which we call love. It can be described as “an emotional attitude characterized by anger and an extreme aversion, enmity, ill-will, together with a desire to inflict injury upon some individual or object.” Actually, hatred is an associate state of anger, and as such its action has already been discussed in a previous chapter.

Let us digress, for a moment, and go back along the evolutionary highway to the time when the first spark of reason was given to the soul. We would observe, perchance, one of the first crude manifestations of human life walking through the woods and experiencing a terrific storm. The roar of thunder and crash of lightning were incomprehensible to man, and as he looked up in wonderment, his reaction was the same as it is today with things we do not understand. Hence fear, terrible fear, took possession of his consciousness. It is a mental law that whatever the mind does not understand, it will either fear or worship. When that which arouses the emotional state of fear does not inspire awe, admiration, or worship, then it will provoke a feeling of hostility, a form of hatred.

Hatred, therefore, is an aspect of fear. We hate our enemies because we are afraid of them. We scorn those whom we do not fear. Where there is no fear, there is no hate. With all the chaos, destruction, and suffering rampant in the world today, there are many who still remain calm and poised in their thinking. Their hearts are not filled with hatred, for they are confident that good will ultimately prevail.

From the Rays of the Dawn chapter: Kindness

Kindness of thought and action should extend to all human beings, especially those who are needy, helpless, infirm, and those who are in any way deprived of a normal, happy existence. Kindness should constitute a predominant trait in the character of all parents, teachers, doctors, and all others entrusted with the care and supervision of children or of any human being. In business, in professional life, in travel, in all social intercourse—at home, in the community, and among nations—consideration and sympathetic understanding of our neighbors is a paramount factor in maintaining peace and happiness in the great human family.
Kindness to others reaps its own reward, for the Law of Compensation provides adequate remuneration for the good that we bestow on others. The benefits we receive from another’s thoughtfulness should act as a motivating power for us to treat those whom we contact with consideration and benevolence. When some person has been kind to us, we should express our appreciation by an equal readiness to serve another who needs assistance. Thus the good deeds of the human family are kept in constant circulation, and no individual is left to suffer needlessly. We often receive kindness from people whom we do not have the opportunity to directly return a favor. But we can show our gratitude for these blessings by the good thoughts and deeds that we convey to others. We must remember that we are all ONE, all members of the great body of humanity.

Did you know that less than 5% of health and healing deals with the physical? Dr. Fleet who authored the Rays of the Dawn said that 95% of health or disease is from metaphysical (beyond the physical) origins. Now leading scientists agree that most of disease or health is psychosomatic in origin.

This book outlines the natural laws of the body, mind and soul. We can see the laws of the mind as more of the negative attributes and the laws of the soul more of the positive attributes.

“Patience is the faculty inherent in the human soul that enables us to accomplish our mission without allowing ourselves to be diverted from our purpose by obstacles that could obstruct our path of progression. Patience strengthens our will and fortifies our intellect against life’s discouragements. It is a motivating force that enables us to walk steadily forward in our chosen path despite the pitfalls encountered along the way.
Many wander along blind alleys and meet with difficulties that re**rd advancement. By exercising patience such obstacles can be avoided—or at least they can be overcome—thus maintaining progress. If we lack patience, however, we abandon the project. We are then convinced of our weakness, and advancement is impossible.
The spiritual attitude necessary for those who would advance is one of keen sensibility and endurance. When our soul is peaceful and pure, it awakens to the higher states of consciousness, assuring our entire organism’s growth. In the midst of inharmony and chaos, the progressive soul must maintain its calm. Though tested, it must be composed; though deprived, it must be content; though surrounded by sorrow, it must be happy.
Patience is an indispensable aspect of perseverance.
Our frequency and continuity of effort depend on patience, whereas perseverance only gives us the will to make this effort.”
