In my Acupuncture practice on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, one of the most frequent conditions that I treat in young women, is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. This is not surprising given that it affects 9-18% of women of reproductive age (Lin et al, 2019). Otherwise known as Stein-Leventhal Syndrome or by its acronym PCOS, it is characterized by long, anovulatory menstrual cycles, and a host of other uncomfortable symptoms such as excess hair growth, acne, and mood disorders.

The practice they visit is of one of my absolute favorite teachers from the New England School of Acupuncture! , Yan Ping Jin. She is wonderful! I also used to see her as a patient, and am happy to hear that she has moved slightly closer to the Cape.

A Massachusetts herb clinic is seeing more and more people trying out herbal remedies amid the pandemic as a way to increase immunity and to help with lingering health issues from COVID-19.

Excited to announce that as of May 22, I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA. Members typically receive 12 acupuncture visits as part of their benefits package. I’ve also applied to be in network with Cigna, and will update when this goes through.

One of my favorite trees is in bloom! Besides being beautiful, the bark and flowers of the Mimosa tree are used in Chinese herbal medicine to treat constrained emotions such as depression, irritability, and bad temper. It is also frequently used in formulas that treat insomnia, and memory loss.

Today, exactly 2 months since closing down my clinic, I happily re-opened doors for in-person appointments. It is going to be a very slow return to “business as normal”. For the near future, I will be seeing a limited number of patients with new protocols in place. 🌿🎋

🌿When you arrive in the parking lot, please call me. I will let you in to the clinic and lead you directly to your treatment room.
🌿You will be the only patient treated in this room during a 48 hour period. All surfaces, door handles, acupuncture tables, etc. will be disinfected prior to your arrival.
🌿You and I will both wear masks during the appointment.
🌿Telemedicine will be used for lengthy discussion of changes to your health, and for viewing your tongue.
🌿Payments may be made with a card on file, or over the phone prior to your appointment.
🌿Follow-up appointments will be scheduled online or over the phone as well.

I saw my first patient today with this protocol, and it went very smoothly. Excited to see everyone again little by little!🌞🌻
