Groundhog Day is a fun excuse to slow down, get silly, and make memories with your little ones! Celebrate together by reading a Groundhog Day book, crafting a paper groundhog, or stepping outside to look for shadows just for fun. Talk about light and dark, winter and spring, and let your child lead the curiosity.

Happy Groundhog Day from all of us at Encompass! (Here's to 6 more weeks of winter...) ❄️🌤️

At four months, your little one is growing so fast! You may notice them showing interest in food, opening their mouth when it’s time to eat, and drinking 4 to 6 ounces every three to four hours. These little signs show they’re learning, growing, and becoming more in tune with the world around them. Every little one is different, but trust your instincts! We are here for support when you need it.

Learning doesn’t start in a classroom. It starts in everyday moments.

It’s in songs during bath time, words shared while getting bundled up, and curiosity sparked by the world outside the window. For babies and toddlers, learning happens through play, connection, and routine.

On International Day of Education, we’re celebrating the families who support learning from the very beginning. Every story, conversation, and moment of encouragement builds the foundation for future growth.

At Encompass Family Support Services, we’re proud to support early learning through play based, family centered care 💙

As the new year begins, it’s easy to find ourselves comparing milestones, achievements, and progress with other children. But every child grows at their own pace, and comparison often takes away from the joy of your child’s unique journey. If you’ve found yourself wondering “Is my child on track?” it might be time to shift the focus from comparison to celebration of small wins and meaningful moments.

Our latest blog reminds us that growth isn’t a race—each child’s path is their own. Read more: https://www.encompassfss.net/blog/letting-go-of-comparison-in-the-new-year-a-reminder-that-every-child-grows-at-their-own-pace

When it’s cold outside and cabin fever starts to creep in, remember that little moments at home still make a big impact on your child’s development.

Try simple gross motor play indoors like crawling through blanket tunnels, building pillow obstacles, or turning on music for a dance break. These activities help build strength, coordination, and confidence and they’re fun for everyone.

You can also support language development during everyday winter routines. Talk through bundling up, name winter clothes, or narrate what you see outside the window as the snow falls. Hearing words connected to real moments helps little ones make sense of their world.

You don’t need anything fancy, just movement, conversation, and connection. And if you ever have questions about your child’s development, we’re here to help.
