DIY Holiday Cards for Little Hands: Get your child involved in the holiday fun while boosting their fine motor skills!🎄

What You’ll Need:
✂ Construction paper or blank cards
✂ Stickers, glitter, or small holiday cutouts
✂ Glue sticks and crayons or markers

How to Make:
1. Fold the paper in half to create a card.
2. Encourage your child to decorate the front with drawings, stickers, or glitter.
3. Write a message inside, or let younger children “write” with scribbles.

Why is it great? Gluing and coloring build hand strength and control. Plus, sending the cards to friends and family helps your child practice giving and sharing! 😄

Watch for cues: Look for gestures, facial expressions, or body movements—they’re their way of communicating.
- Use visuals or signs: Simple pictures or basic signs like “more,” “eat,” or “help” give them a voice.
- Celebrate every attempt: A smile, a point, or a small gesture is a win—acknowledge it!
- Follow their lead: Join in what they enjoy and let them guide the interaction.

Looking for ways to soak up the magic of December with your kiddos? Here are a few local favorites that make the season feel extra special:

🎅 Santa’s Village at Rheault Farm hosted by Fargo Park District: Step inside a holiday wonderland where lights glow, cookies smell amazing, and Santa and Mrs. Claus welcome little visitors into their cozy cottage.
✈️ Santa’s Arrival at the Fargo Air Museum: Dec. 13, 9:30 a.m.–12 p.m. There’s nothing quite like watching Santa land by plane!
🚗 Holiday Lights at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds: Load up the car, turn on the Christmas playlist, and enjoy a drive-through lights show that brings holiday magic to life. Open daily Nov. 28–Dec. 31 from 5–10 p.m. (closed Christmas Day).

Whether you're visiting Santa, watching him touch down by plane, or cruising through twinkling displays, December is full of moments that make the season bright.
