Thinking about starting solids with your baby? 🥄 Most little ones are ready around 4 to 6 months, but every baby develops at their own pace. Look for signs like sitting up with support, showing interest in what you are eating, or no longer pushing food out with their tongue. Start simple with pureed veggies, fruits, or iron fortified cereals and make mealtime fun. Trying new tastes and textures together is part of the adventure!🍌🥕

Please keep in mind that every child is different. This is a general guide. Always check with your pediatrician before starting solids. If you have concerns about your baby reaching milestones, reach out to us or take our quick developmental milestone quiz to see how they are doing.

This month, we celebrate the incredible social workers who show up every day for children and families. They are advocates, listeners, problem solvers, and steady support during some of life’s most challenging moments.

Social workers help families navigate resources, connect to services, and feel supported every step of the way. The work is not always visible, but the impact is lasting and life changing.

We also want to give a special shoutout to our amazing team. Your compassion, dedication, and commitment to the families we serve does not go unnoticed. Our community is stronger because of you.

Getting kids to eat their veggies can feel like a daily battle but it doesn’t have to! 😄

Make it fun and stress free:
🌶️ Let them help pick veggies at the store. Kids are more likely to eat what they choose
🥦 Show them how much you enjoy veggies too. They love to copy
🌽 Skip the pressure. No one likes being forced to eat
🥕 Get creative with shapes, colors, or veggie faces on their plate

Healthy eating starts with curiosity and play. Turn mealtime into a little adventure!

Resource of the Month: WIC! 🌟

Did you know the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program is here to support families with young children? WIC helps with healthy food benefits, breastfeeding support, nutrition education, and connects you with other helpful community resources. 🥛🥦🍎 If your child qualifies for Early Intervention services, you likely meet WIC eligibility too—making it an important resource for both nutrition and development. Recent updates make WIC even more flexible! Families can now choose how to use their dairy benefits, picking more milk, cheese, or yogurt based on what works best for your household.

Not sure if you qualify? Contact your local WIC office to learn more and see how they can support your family!

Groceries feel expensive right now. We all see it. But eating healthy on a budget with your little ones is still doable with a few small shifts.🧆🍓🛒

Start with a simple plan before you head to the store. Even jotting down 4 or 5 meals for the week helps you avoid those extra “what do we need” purchases. Buy basics like rice, beans, oats, and frozen veggies in bulk when you can. They last longer and stretch further. Cook a little extra at dinner so tomorrow’s lunch is already handled. Swap sugary drinks for water and keep easy snacks like fruit, yogurt, or popcorn on hand. And do not skip store brands. They’re often the same quality for a lower price.

Healthy does not have to mean fancy. Simple meals, a little planning, and small swaps can make a big difference for your budget and your family.
