🎉 Happy New Year from The Ridge Treatment & Reentry Center! 🎉

As we welcome 2026, we want to wish everyone a safe, healthy, and hopeful start to the new year. Whether you’re celebrating at home or out with friends, your well-being matters.

If you choose to use substances tonight, please keep these harm reduction tips in mind:

✅ Plan Ahead – Know your limits and set a plan before you start.
✅ Stay Hydrated & Eat – Alcohol and other substances hit harder on an empty stomach.
✅ Avoid Mixing – Combining substances (including alcohol and prescription meds) can increase risks.
✅ Use with Trusted People – Never use alone; have someone you trust nearby.
✅ Know Emergency Numbers – If something feels wrong, call for help immediately.
✅ Consider Alternatives – If you’re in recovery or want to avoid substances, plan fun sober activities!

Your safety is our priority. Let’s make 2026 a year of growth, healing, and connection. 💙

From the start of Year 1, we were clear: Behavioral health and successful reentry are priorities at the highest level of state government.

We created a Recovery and Reentry Commissioner – the first Cabinet position of its kind in the country – to bring focus, coordination and accountability to work that touches public safety, workforce and families across North Dakota.

Working with the Legislature, we directed over $30 million to add dozens of behavioral health beds in Bismarck, Grand Forks and Williston, including beds for youths in need of behavioral health services.

And the state continued to strengthen reentry supports and ensure people leaving incarceration have real pathways to stability, employment and long-term success.

When government treats behavioral health as a core responsibility, not an afterthought, communities are safer and stronger.
