Sepsis is the body’s extreme immune response to an existing infection and can lead to widespread tissue and organ failure if not treated quickly. According to the Sepsis Alliance, sepsis kills 350,000 adults in the U.S. annually.
For those who have experienced a septic event, they and their loved ones know that TIME was of the essence.
