Whether you are here to find help or to give help, we hope you will come to know that The Perry Center is a Christ-centered home reaching out to strengthen and provide for young unwed mothers spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally. We understand that there are difficult decisions to make when you are faced with an unplanned pregnancy. We are here to help young single mothers prepare for these changes. It is important that each young woman makes the decision that is best for herself and her unborn baby, so that each may live a full, productive, and loving life. The Perry Center is a quiet, reflective place with counselors experienced in helping to guide women in crisis pregnancy situations.

During our class times at The Perry Center, we encourage each woman to parent in a healthy way, even when it was not how they were raised. During a Perry Center class, one resident told the class her goal is to not let her baby make the same mistakes she made as a teen. When asked how she plans to do this, she said by not trauma dumping on her child and by providing her child fun activities to do to help them make healthy choices. She continued, instead of just telling them what they cannot do, she will find lots of interesting things they can do together. She said this would be the best way to get a child away from too much screen time.

At our most recent Thankfulness Meeting, the residents said they are so grateful to The Perry Center because we are giving them a second chance at being better moms. One resident shared that she is thankful for PC staff who care for her and provide a supportive environment for her to be sober and work toward a healthier life. Another resident said she is just thankful to have a bed to sleep in while here. A third resident said she knows she is meant to be here.
