We had a wonderful time learning and playing together! Today I had the great honor of teaching therapists and graduate students about Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy. There is such a depth of processing that happens in trauma narratives when done through play. Each of the components is enhanced and more effective when done with play therapy interventions.

Workshop Announcement: Integrating Play Therapy with Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT): Healing Children through Play. November15 9:00-5:00 See comments below for the QR code.
TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment for children with a history of trauma developed by Drs. Cohen, Mannarino and Deblinger. Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate treatment for children. Integrating play therapy techniques with TF-CBT allows for profound healing. Dr Angela Cavett had the honor of writing chapters on the integration of TF-CBT and play therapy for an edited book by Cohen, Mannarino and Deblinger.
